It was Sonia Gandhi, who was damaging the party from behind
by satyarthi on May 26, 2008 01:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

During Narshimha Rao's regime, it was Sonia Gandhi who was damaging the party through her coutries. later on, this was proved when Arjun, NarainDutt Tiwari , etc., were rewarded with ministrial posts.

Sonia Gandhi even had founded her own party back in 1995.. i still remember when My cousin got his luck in becoming the president of Punjab, and was put in charge of assembling the district leaders.. That was the time, when Congress Party was the ruling party, and these fake gandhis thought of congress getting away from their hand.. And who can forget that sonia gandhi became a president of Congress, after locking the then president into Bathroom with the help of fellow goons who are now ministers at various portfolio.

What insights did you get about the BJP's victory Ameet? Apart from the headline, and a mention of Arun Jaitley?.. :-)

Personally I feel this is a justification for Congress's defeat..

by kavita thombre on May 26, 2008 12:44 AM  Permalink

Change is inevrtable..Accept it.Today you cannot fool people with casteism.People want development on all fronts . Inspite of the fact that Minsters from NK had a prominent role to play in Karnataka Politics, NK is prhaps the most undeveloped place in India.

sorry state of affairs in the grand old congressparty.
by Thrinadh vasantavada on May 25, 2008 11:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is high time the dedicated congress leaders to party not to sonia to wakeup and see realities.the congress leaders who have no base and influence with people roam around sonia and do chamchagiri in return they get a union berth or A Party org. position . during that period their only duty is to sing bhajans of sonia.and never try to get in touch with masses.
these things are happening due to ineffective party president who is not capable to understand indian voter.
she and her son have toured and canvassed in many constituitions. but the end results are there. if congress wins karnataka sonia and rahul might have taken full credit.

Communal Congress defeated
by Indian Indian on May 25, 2008 09:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a matter of joy that the communal policies of Congress have boomeranged on the party and it has been defeated. (SOME OF THE Communal policies of Congress: supporting terrorists so long as they are muslims, presenting the first-ever communal budget with muslim districts getting specific funds, counting muslims in the Army, organizing a report to say that the karsevaks in Godhra killed themselves or some such stupid thing, etc.)

Apart from the 'Divide Hindus and Muslims/Christians' policy of the Congress, one more reason for its defeat is its utter disregard for the monstrous, unbelievable price rises due to its wrong policies like service tax on too many new things in just two years, and then distributing about 70000 crores of our money as bribes to people who have loans to repay..

Looks like you not read the article properly. She was not crying. She was merely telling off Mrs Sonia Gandhi for failing to understand India. I dont think Sonia can be blamed anyway. Her Italian mind surely fails to understand that India is a nation with different regional states that need to have their own desires and ideas. 10 Janpath needs to be open to ideas. Else we will achieve what Gandhi desired a long time ago, which is disbanding of the Congress

hi rahul,
the reason i also felt why she was crying was because of these statements.
"When everyone knew that the BJP was consolidating itself in Karnataka, why in January-February 2006 did 10, Janpath not do everything possible to maintain the alliance with the Janata Dal-Secular? When H D Kumaraswamy, Deve Gowda's son, was blackmailing the party to become chief minister the Congress high command should have been flexible.

The Congress's debacle in Karnataka began on February 9, 2006, the day Kumaraswamy won the confidence vote in the state assembly with the BJP's help. "

i thought/felt she was bemoaning the fall of Congress-JDS govt. i felt there was an undercurrent of sadness.
but her advice though is spot on. hope congress acts upon that, because in democracy, it is very good to have strong 2 National parties. though not saying this out of love for Congress...:)
i voted for the first time and lo... in my constituency my vote has really counted(travelled from hyd to blore). the candidate has trounced a very 3-times sitting MLA who was not that bad..(but i think was in a wrong party...:))

c mon man be progressive
by sagar raj on May 25, 2008 09:42 PM  Permalink

its seems a refreshing change in south india that bjp has come to power at last or is likely to come to power. all the hollow claims of the congress and the left parties have bit the dust. we all hope that this is an indication of the times to come. let us all hope that even the muslims shed their regressive attitude and come to the mainstream.
