Karnataka Election Results.
by shyam Nellore on May 25, 2008 04:07 PM  Permalink

A mandate has been given and BJP is the largest party in the assembly. With the help of the independents, they can form a Government. If Yeddiurappa and co are smart, they can give a good government and thereby ensure that they come back to power with full vigour in the next election five years hence. If they play dirty, they can be sure that they will be routed and cannot imagine anything further down the road.
I am a BJP sympathiser but at the same time want that they give an unimaginably good Govenment which Indian Sub continent had not witnessed in the past 60 years of independence. I do not know as to what is there in the mind of the furute CM. I want him to raise above all these petty politicking and provide an extra-ordinary government which had not been imagined by any Indian. His horse trading for getting a simple majority should be very limited and see to it that he does not cringe and stoop in front of any unscrupulous politician. I truly aspire that he puts paid to all unholy attributes and think of only able administration. Narendra Modi visited the state for electioneering and spoke about lofty ideals and good governance. Let Yeddi show in action by practically turning Karnataka into the Numero Uno state in the federation of Indian States.I want that to be made the minimum achievement ofBJPand Yedi. Ifhe turns back and sees he will see theheads that had rolled down after this election. Heshould have learnt sufficient lessons fromthat.Iwish him all Luck.Shyam.

I have a feeling that Deve Gowda is keeping his cards to his chest. He believes that he will get around 40 MLAs and will again become the king maker. I spoke to some of my friends from Karnataka who mentioned that there will again be a hung assembly but with BJP as the single largest party. Some of them even said BJP will get single majority. Any updates from friends from Karnataka before the results are announced

Better cong(i) and BJP should come up with a state level agreement and should keep away from gowda. Thats my take.

If Left and Cong can compete and complement each other in parliament, in front of media, in kerala, bengal and in central.. why not other parties... thats the way to shut out the insular parties.

Can we expect stable government?
by kasi viswanadham on May 24, 2008 08:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is possible only if one of the major parties get absolute majority. I am hoping that irrespective of party merits now.

Warning- Check the software
by Kris on May 24, 2008 06:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Software can be made to do anything. Victors can become losers and vice versa.

There should be no compromise with votes of the people and trust in electoral process.

It probably has to be some other than Yediruppa who will be one of the biggest casualty in the elections

Those who are dreaming that yeddiyurappa will change parties,he will be disqaulified immediately will have to seek re-election.Also aleast 50% of the mlas need to switch from bjp to jds.Gowda will become a beggar if he tries to buy each of them

Since Anathkumar plotted Yeddiruppa's defeat, just to spite him, Yeddiruppa may get 50% of BJP MLAs to support either the Congress or JDS.

Tomorrow will be a red letter in Karnatka's political history. The verdict will show how intelligent the majority of Kannadigas are. It will prove once for all whether "HUTTIDARE KANNADANADINALLI HUTTABEKU, MECCHIDARE KANNADAVANNA MECHHA BEKU" is going to be reality or just a wishful thinking.

I disagree. Please put facts before using words like "Terrorist". WHat was congress during "EMERGENCY" and after Indira Gandhiji died in Delhi when Sikh's were being massacred? I agree all politicians are opportunists but hard words need strong evidence to support.
