Nice thought. But who follows? We willfully accept ourselves to be divided on Language, caste, political alliliation basis. If you ever travel in Kerala unless you know Malayalam you are considered 2nd grade citizen. If you go to North India you are treated like mince-meat. You hear comments like North Indians have Garam Koon etc. In the eyes of a North Indian anybody who has darker skin than them is a Madaraasi.( the fact that all asians except Chinese ilks are considered as BROWNs in other parts of the world is a separate issue) Marathis never accept anybody from any other region as equals. Rivers in the country are not considered as Indian resources, but treated like personal property of the States in question. Central governments watch helplessly as State governments fight over water and border issues(Belgaum, Cauvery etc) Shanthi who won a silver medal in the Asian games was complained against as being a man and not a woman ( not by people from other countries but our brothers and sisters from the Northern part of India) I have seen the personal experiences of Sportsmen from south when they go and compete against the Northerns in some parts of North India. Do I need to give more examples to show how patriotic we are as Indians???
The issue was raised by SM Krishna first. To clear the clouds, let me explain. SM Krishna's stand was TN does not have the right to use the water falling within its borders because Kannadigas FEEL that Hogannekal falls belong to Karnataka. But the fact is TN is trying to use the 1.5 TMC water it has been allotted to use within its own borders. Tamil, again to you, we educated people should be fair in judging politicians. Otherwise we lose the moral right to blame them for corruption, selfishness etc. Now answer me honestly. Karnataka has been under congress rule for long. Did they ever listen to the voice of reason on Cauvery water issue. I read in one of the tamil newspapers that Mallikarguna deliberately avoided projecting tamil candidates in this election. You judge for yourself.

I believe in Democracy we the voters are in the position of a Judge. We need to hear arguments from both sides and deliver our verdict. To point out mistakes of one does not mean support for other. But do we do this role efficiently is a billion dollar question. But what we are masters at is to personally attack people to show how SMART we are compared to others. Good luck on your self assumed smartness.

nowhere close to gowda. and btw rather a PM who has his say than a puppet.
MR. KARUNA IS CREATING UNWANTED TENTIONS BETWEEN TWO STATES FOR THE NEXT ASSEMBLY ELECTION PURPOSE. HE IS GETTING SIMPATHY IN TAMIL NADU. BUT IN BANGALORE HE IS GIVEN LIVES TO THIS PROJECT BY OFFERING "NARA BALI" BY CREATING TENSIONS IN BANGALORE.

Gowda, just understand it was your JD govt which has signed the agreement to this project.

This project was approved by karnataka and the then central government. It is the duty of any government to provide basic needs to its people. The water is being taken inside tamil nadu's boundary. Karnataka's objection is unreasonable and unjustifiable.

On the first count he shouldnt have stopped the project. Better sense has prevailed.Better late than Never Water is everyone's property.everyone should share water. Ganeshraam
Congress has realised that they wont win; Most probably BJP would from the new govt. Stopping of Hoggenekkal work was done at the behest of Centre; Congress's message to people was "Wethey would get the work stopped, and you vote for us"; "Now you didnt vote for us, why should we pressurise our central coalition partner?" This in politics against nation!

Hello tamil, You have tamil in your name. So I believe you should have followed the issue more closely than most on the forum. The issue was raised by SM Krishna first. This fighting and swearing against each other will continue for another few days.
Initially Karuna said he will have dialogue with an elected government. Now he has ordered for commencing the work. Whether any government has been formed in Karnataka. Why this double speaking. If he is really interested in a dialogue before resuming the work he should have waited for another week for any elected government to occupy the office. Is he trying to fool the already fooled public. When he stopped work he talked like an matured politician and the present decision makes him a fit case of amnesia.

Boss, the deal has already been inked. There is nothing need for a dialogue. Tamilnadu need not have any consultations with Karnataka as far as drinking project is concerned. It is their internal matter. They are using the water in their land for the drinking purpose of their own people
