Arrogant army officers
by Balasubramanian S on May 15, 2008 10:02 PM  Permalink

Mr Omar needs to know that there were no or vey less terrorist attacks before the 1990. The large presence of the army was directly due to the Islamic terrorism sposored by Pakistan. The same army supplied sumptuos food to the terrorists in Hazaratbal shirne, whereas the army had to be content with dry and stale rotis.

Stop discussing religions
by hot vab on May 15, 2008 09:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

People of every religion have shed blood in the name of God. Period. It's high time now to consider religion to be a personal choice and not allowed to be expressed in public. As in France.
Great prophets come and go, become phenomena in themselves. And, people create religions around these phenomena. This fact must be understood.
Let's stop bullshittin on religions.
We must create and discuss different solutions as to how to separate religion from mob. And how to integrate Individual to religion better.
Lastly, religion by birth is a wrong concept. No parents should be allowed to practice religious activities in front of children. All religions should be taught in schools by teachers who don't belong to that religion.
What else can we do shall we discuss.?
Shall we create such a forum where we can discuss such a topic clinically?

And yeah, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Parsies and blah blah blah.. must receive formal education at all costs. Even if the student doesn't wish to study. Particular subjects could be removed or added by students choice. But all should get educated.

Wrong. Don't lump all religions together in killing people. Hinduism and Buddhism don't teach that they are the only absolute truths and that non-believers should convert or be killed. If you talk of communal killings, yes there have been in all communities to differing degrees. The most however, by Muslims and Christians historically.

I agree with the rest of your comments.

My vision for my country!
by Ali on May 15, 2008 09:42 PM  Permalink

A strong secular and democratic India, with equal rights and respect for all its citizens, no discrimination, equal opportunity, free of terrorism and fanatcism of all kinds. People should be free to live where ever they want to live in India without being threatned by the politicians.

World is laughing at our spineless lady PM & Home Minister!
by Chola King on May 15, 2008 09:42 PM  Permalink

The serial bombings in Jaipur coming in the wake of a surge in cross-border terrorism are a grim reminder that our internal security situation continues to remain precarious. The repeated bombings which have extracted a terrible toll of innocent lives and maimed scores of others bear evidence of the fact that the evil forces of jihad operating out of Pakistan or through Islamic organisations in Bangladesh are alive & well. Statements of condemnation by individual Pakistani leaders is just a ploy for their low-intensity war against India.
Berating the secular fundamentalist Congress or & UPA Government for their abysmal failure in fighting Islamist terror is not enough. An ineffetive PM signals surrender by offering to reward the families of jihadis killed by security forces and spends sleepless nights worrying over the fate of suspected terrorists. An equally pathetically clueless Home Minister justifies the inexplicable delay in sending the convicted mastermind behind the terrorist attack on Parliament House to his justly deserved death. And when a cynical Congress forces the scrapping of an effective anti-terrorism law to appease those who are not discomfited by the sight of horrific bloodshed, terrorists are bound to feel emboldened. This is the 50th time that stupid Patil is issuing ant-terror statements( he closes his top shirt button before looking at camera).

Omar

I have followed Omar Abdullah's political career and find him to be a very sincere, secular, intelligent person. He is better than his father. And he is certainly better than a lot of other Indian politicians. Of course he has to say some thing about the Armed forces to balance his criticism of the Pundit exodus. But that is natural.

Are you kidding? This Omar Aabdullah is exactly as bad as his father and his grandfather. He is also just as bad as Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and his ugly daughter Mehbooba (remember the fake kidnapping of his other daughter that the Mufti staged to get the Islamic terrorists released from jail).
How can you have any respect for people like Omar Abdullah and Raoul Maino, who have never held down a real job (like an engineer, doctor, etc.) for even one day in their lives? All that they have done is inherit their father's political machinery business, and they then have the gall to try and rule the people of India. Let these jobless young men like Omar Abdullah, Raoul Maino, Sachin Pilot, etc. hold down a real job for at least ten years, before they enter politics. Then, maybe we will have **some** respect for them !

Kashmiri pandits please come back home
by Ali on May 15, 2008 09:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We can live peacefully. This Jerk Omar and his father and grandfather should have done somethign about the Hindus being driven out of the valley, they have been in power all along. Why are you blaming the ordinary muslims for the disaster? Had there been a political will to stop this things would have been different.

But mainstream Muslims never oppose Islamic Fundoos which is why they hold a sway on all Muslims. Not only Kashmir whereever Muslims are in majorit they drive away non-muslims and enforce Islam forcibly as Omar pointed out.
