Govt. should implement some basic security measures across all Indian cities
by Kaushik Goswami on May 14, 2008 10:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. Install CCTVs at all public places
2. Random search of vehicles at malls and bazaar areas by local police.
3. Tough anti-terrorist regulations
4. Generate public awareness about personal security and maintain the momentum. It's no use imposing a curfew after the damage is done.

Congress finally nailed the coffin of India's Seciruty & Integrity by repealing POTA This proves that how they are bent upon protecting the Terrorists and their MPs linked to terrorism. UPA should have consulted the army, paramilitary forces and the state police who are dealing with terrorism day-in-and-day-out and not but not the least the widows who lost their husbands if fighting terrorists. Security forces have been fighting terrorists risking their own lives and how can congress justify scraping a law that is specially designed for that (fighting terrorists)?." There have been some abuse of POTA, which law in India had not been abused. "Even IPC (Indian Penal Code) has been abused. Does that mean that one scraps IPC ?." "Without POTA many of the punishments that had to be given, could not have been given; Many of the funds that had been confiscated, could not have been confiscated! God Save BharatMata from Congress!!!!!!!It is a naked truth that congress is soft on militants and naxals and want them to breed so that they can survive.

Dont go by the surface peace
by Vijay on May 14, 2008 10:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If people were living with harmony then there are some culprits within these people. To plan a blast like these any organization needs local support. People who have any idea about the people who gave support should come out and hand them to police. This will ensure continuance of peace.
If this does not happen then these terrorists have won the day. Their target of increasing the hatred between the communities is achieved.

I totally agree with you my friend. All such activities cannot be carried out without local support. And the people who are giving support to the terrorists on the ground are from mainstream society. I appeal to them to act in a responsible and sane manner and stop providing ground support to these monsters and demons who are out to disrupt the harmony in this peace loving country.

Blasts? What Blasts?%u2026Yeh to hota hi rahta hai%u2026

%u201CKuch nahin kar sakte %u2013 yeh to hota hi rahega%u201D

%u2013 I have been hearing this in various conversations all around me for the last two days.
Maddeningly, the sequence of blasts, appeals for calm, investigations, nabbing of suspected Pakistani terrorists followed by collective amnesia seems to be playing out again.

The so-called %u201Cinternational community%u201D, the western countries, the global powers that be, of course don%u2019t care %u2013 beyond mouthing platitudes of condemnation and sympathies, there is little they will do %u2013 and why should we expect otherwise? No one knows (or cares) that over the years, we have suffered more from terrorism than any other country except Iraq.[i]

Bomb blasts in London are a %u201Cterrorist outrage%u201D, an attack on western values, an attack on freedom and democracy. In India, bomb blasts are a way of life %u2013 besides, what are a few hundred people in a country of billion? Not surprisingly the unfortunate victims of Varanasi, Delhi, Mumbai are never counted or mentioned amongst the %u201Cinnocents%u201D killed in New York, Bali, London or Madrid.

And besides, aren%u2019t these people killed because we are holding on to Kashmir against Pakistan%u2019s will? Ignorance rules the discussions - and takes cover under indifference when facts begin to get inconvenient.

So what can we do - other than to pray and feel helpless?

I wish I knew the answer. But honestly I do not.

In my search for answers, I trawled the discussion forums on Bharat-Rakshak. Huge amount of ac

Why blame HUJI?
by Prem Mohan on May 14, 2008 10:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Once again, HUJI has been blamed in a knee-jerk reaction without any proof. Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood and we should heed the advice of Dr Manmohan Singh and stay calm. We should fully trust the leadership of Mdm Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi.
