Politicians and Democracy
by Sundar Venkat on May 14, 2008 10:56 AM  Permalink

Public are voting elect a politician to power, but there is no system to remove the same person when he is proved as culprit, corrupt, inefficient, rapist, terrorist, militant, smuggler, goonda etc., in the Indian Democracy. One side power only is given to the public to cast the vote and to tolerate all atrocities meted out quietly.

Mayawati rule in UP
by Ravindra Yadav on May 13, 2008 09:33 PM  Permalink

The poor state employees like teachers, doctors ,sepoys feel terrorised by the leaders, mantris(ministers)threatening them to loose their job in the name of administration and to wipe out corruption but in fact it is new formula of Maya-Rule to grab money by transfer, postings, and terrorising lower rags of the state employees. The employees and public are watching carefully how Maya is wasting state fund to raise Ambedkar-Kanshiram memorials and she is seen with diamond stud jwelleries and her ministers run in king-like style crushing to death the poors under the wheels of their vehicles.Time will say the fact how a self styled dalit messiah was after 'Maya' only.

Congress undue favour to UP
by Shyam on May 13, 2008 02:50 PM  Permalink

Why is Congress showing undue favour in UP only? If all congressmen in the entire country take the call to Jail Bharo, country will be better. After all they are not worth staying outside jails.

Rediff, please do not try to unnecessarily sensationalize the headlines!
by arun singh on May 13, 2008 11:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The heading '16-page chargesheet against Maya and her rule' made me read article. The headline gave impression as if the news has to with some sort of legal or bureaucratic action against Mayawati government. The fact is that it is merely a propaganda against Mayawati by an irrelevant party like Congress. I expect serious journalistic efforts from Rediff. Is anybody listening, pleas!

It is pathetic to see the once mighty Congress stooping this low. Guess decades of corruption, nepotism and playing off one group against another brought them to this state.

Arun,

The only thing Rediff missed out is that
this one year old Behenji will be so
for the third time.

Do not use any printed paper. We might create scarcity of paper and inflation will rise due to shortage of paper.
It will also require lot of resources (human) to list out all the items.

BJP is listening. But projected pm is not in his control. he feels difficult to distinguish between leader of opposition and leader of the house. so it will take some time to understand what you are talking about.
