It is ridiculous on the part of Mr.Basu to say that the action of the Governer is againgt the State. The Governer wanted to show the way to people how to save electricity when there is shortage. The entire nation should follow such example when there is a crisis.Instead of thanking the Governer why the commies are barking? Do they have any shame?

They can't help it. Beijing told them to make a hue and cry and they are dutifully following master's commands.

It's their habit, it's in their blood. Their masters taught them to sing in "His Master's Voice."

WB - the black state under red rule
by Y Singh on May 09, 2008 02:24 PM  Permalink

WB has no future. Mr Gandhi's actions are praise-worthy but will the comrades change? It'll remain poverty stricken as ever, otherwise comrades won't get votes. It's the strategy. less of power means less of industry. While the whole country is forging ahead with a mammoth growth in economy, the future of WB remains bleak as long as the comrades rule. Go comrades, go to your beloved country of the Chinks, why are you wasting time in this country?

Communists!
by Manian Vasudevan on May 09, 2008 02:18 PM  Permalink

Till the time the entire Communist parties are wiped out of the Indian politics, Nandigrams will continue to happen.

Communists want to share power with anyone and everyone. They say that BJP is their No. 1 enemy, yet they did not mind sitting at the same side with BJP in 1989. Their only objective to ensure that no Government at Centre is stable.

God only knows when the Voters would teach these kind of parties a lesson by comprehensively defeating them everywhere.

Jyoti Basu is the original power cutter of Bengal
by ARINDAM GHOSH on May 09, 2008 02:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Power cut in Kolkata ( Bengal need not be talked about, because there is always power cut or no power in non-Kolkata areas )actually started when Jyoti Basu became Chief Minister. At that timw the budget funds allocated for power were deliberately spent in some other work by Jyoti Basu. The situation was such that West Bengal opposition leader in the assembly ABA Ghani Khan Chowdhury called Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation as "Andhokaar( darkness) Supply Corporation". The West Bengal Governor has really showed his class by introducing self imposed power cut in his abode. Jyoti basu has also showed his class( Third Class!!!) by use of less than civilized language. If we borrow from the Iranian president's words we should call Jyoti Basu no better than a corpse.

I disagree with you. Not Islam is putting India back. Only those lunatics terrorists and fundamentalists are doing so. There are lunatics among Hindus too. There are lot of good persons among Muslims. Only a part of them are resorting to terrorism etc. If the majority of Islam revolt against these Terrorism, terroris would be wiped out of the universe. Please dont say anything against Islam at large. Good things are in every religion. There are good practices among Muslims. But, they are not voicing their protest against Terrorism. Thats the only problem.

all religions should be practised privately and all religious places should be open to all citizens of this country. Thereshould be no public show of religion and its preacings so that good people of all religions are not put together with bad people of that particular rellgion.

India is ruined by people like you who take a high moral ground when Islam or folowers of Islam are criticised.
First do acknowledge the truth that there is and are inherent defects in Islam and its followers.
Whatever you said about "good people" amongst Islam are not raising their voice, it means "good people" of Islam are sleeper supporters of terrorists.
Tell me all these centuries has Islam got a credible spiritual leader amongst them. All these Pirs in India are all enemy soldiers killed while fighting Rajput or Solanki dynasties.
Reality is Islam is a dogma or an archaic practise like Communism where these 2 things dont stand a place in this 21st century.

Its not a sensible message, its a stand taken by all our so called "intellectuals" that of a high moral ground.
The way Islam and its followers think is totally flawed and dangerous for the whole world.Their kind of thinking is dangerous to all peace loving people. Its first generation folowers sucesfully converted the Bedouins but then as they tried to spread it down East or West of Mecca they destroyed the local culture, this is what the Christians did too.Christian termed it "Cross of changes" maybe you can catch up more on an Enigma's song of name Silent warrior:-).
For people like BinLaden and Mullah Omar Bush is the right person, the same Moslems and Arab countries couldnt even raise their fingers when US blatantly attacked Iraq.
