Yes anyways we wont be getting any medals. Instead of getting embarassed by participating, we should embarass the Chinese by boycotting Olympics....
Symbolic signs of diplomacy has nothing to do with expected returns. A slim little man sitting on a fast-unto-death isn't inferior to a fatso who normally eats 18 meals a day. Had that been the criteria; a certain Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi would have been laughed off by every Britisher, and Medha Patkar would be the joke of the century. So correct your thought process before it is too late.

Amrit: Very poor logic. You don't boycott Olympics because someone is gonna notice the hundreds of medals are going elsewhere. US and its allies boycotted the Moscow Olympics in 1980. Do you think it was because of the medals tally that the world noticed? Sad state of affairs, if this is how our countrymen are thinking.

Definitely, we should think of boycotting this Olympics for giving a fitting rely for their action against Indian Ambassador. Well the reason for boycotting for the record should be this whereas off the record we could be saving our face as there is no prospect of getting any medal in this Olympics.

Fantastic negative thoughts. No wonder we have the kind of government we have today.
We richly deserve such happenings. Pity the Pak army didn't invade Delhi during Kargil - there were millions like you just awaiting a sound thrashing. No doubt you will await China to nuke the whole country anyway. And sit and don't retaliate coz in addition to nuking us, they might do something more painful.. !!

Power hungry and shameless Congress under Left and Jihadi blackmail is again behaving like obideint cow in front of China. The precise mistake Nehru made by supporting china. By acting like a cow in the mosaic of so called EAST dictacted by china is not going to help India at all. India needs to stand-up, firm-up, actaully behave like a world power and not like third world state. Unless India and its coward leaders learns to be aggressive with China and with our looser neighbours, we can never ever be a world power.
China poses a great threat to India's future as: 1) China on our doorstep fearlessly claiming India's NE land 2) China having direct boundry with Pakistan supplying them all support for fight against India 3) China controlling almost all rivers flowing into India from Tibet controlling agriculture, industries, power generation, floods in India's eastern states. 4) China supplying arms/money to Left for anti-India activities giving India a permanent headach for how many more years. 5) Chinese betrayed India, made mockery of India's peace initiatives/support in 60s, attacked India and stole India's land. 6) most of the chinese call Indians beggers and the national chinese media/newspapers potray India as a naked begger in various daily political cartoons. Majority of chinese take India for granted and don't appreciate the slavish behaviour of Indian leaders.

Well said and I agree friend but the problem is not just congress but the culture of sycophancy and personality politics afflicting it.
everyone in congress from top down is chamcha with no leadership trait. standing up for what you believe in requires guts and strength.
An arrogant personality driven party like congress is only good for dividing people of India or in organising riots like 1984 anti sikh riots. (black mark in india's history)

Our first prime minister had sold Aksai Chin and Northern Kashmir to China and Paksitan. Its history that his family ruled this democratic country as a Kingdom post independence. Its no surprise if the entire country is sold to its neighbors, while this family is in rule. Shame on Indian democracy and soverignity. Funniest thing is that latest thread of this family is now advocating change. Its like Al-Qaeda is preaching peace.
our leaders are highly afraid of China, they are hesitant to talk about Arunachal or Chinese occupied Kashmir, - forget Tibet. They and bureacrats are happy with their seat.

Let Indians teach a lesson to China. Our Govt. has bloody no guts to talk tough BECAUSE they are SOLD to COMMUNISTS. How dare the Chinese govt. call MS Nirupama Rao, our Ambassador at 2.00 AM? Every item you see in the Indian markets is made in china. It is ruining our industry. Stop all imports; we lived without their goods & we'll do better . Be Indian and buy Indian goods. Chinese economy will go for a toss if we stop imports OR at least force these idiots to import equal value of goods & services from India. Let us not be scared of "our communists"; its time UPA tells them to go to hell - we'll sign N-deal & improve power in the country. Force Chinese to withdraw from Arunachal borders,tell Nepal to keep their forces away too, help Tibettans in their struggle, urge friendly countries to boycott Beijing Olympics. They will then come to senses.
