Eleven innocent civilians were killed while over 25 injured when the LTTE terrorists exploded a bomb inside the "New City Cafe" hotel in Ampara town this evening, May 09.
The explosion took place around 5.45 p.m and the victims who received injuries were rushed to the Ampara hospital, sources said.
This is another cowardly attempt of the LTTE terrorists to disrupt the normalcy in the area as the government scheduled to head the provincial council election tomorrow to establish the democracy in the eastern province.

LTTE terrorists have gunned an elderly Tamil civilian on 8th May, the third such slaying within last 72 hours.
The victim has been identified as Baskaran, a father of two children. According to the civilian sources LTTE terrorists have been terrorizing businessmen in the area demanding them to offer money to the terrorists outfit. Those who do not comply with their orders have to face the "consequences", the sources added.
Meanwhile, the residents in the Vavuniya town have observed a harthal today, to protest against LTTE killings of civilians in the area. All shops have been closed and public transport services have come to a stand still.

Lakshman Kadiragama is the first villan of the srilankan tamils, he got punishment.
Arunachalam Chrishanthakumar, alias A.C.Shanthan (51) the de-facto leader of the LTTE terrorist group in the United Kingdom has been re-arrested in connection with terrorist funding and procurement activities.
Wiltshire Police sources said, "The 51 year old man was arrested by the anti-terrorist units of the metropolitan Police together with Wiltshire Police at Swindon in the Wiltshire Constabulary, today at 6 a.m. at a pre-dawn raid."
He was re-arrested after three more people were taken for questioning on 29 April. Shanthan was arrested originally on 28 June 2007, before being released on bail with Golden Lambert later on 22 November 2007.Shanthan was alleged to have been operating with Anton Balasingham very closely to build up the outfit in London. He is expected to be produced at a court soon.
The noose is getting tighter by the day for the LTTE terrorists.
