chinese government harbours illusions. it is immature, petulant, childish. they need international condemnation for its tibet handling. they are a rogue government that carries out a facade of being nice. they need to be disciplined with a concerted effort from the international community. they have no freedom on offer for its people, a bunch of military officials effectively run an extremely dictatorial-feudal government.

We should realise that if we lose Arunachal, we can forget about Kashmir. Look at the map of Jammu and Kashmir [Images]. Half is not in our possession (Aksai Chin, Azad Kashmir, etc). Within the other half, half is Ladakh and one third Jammu. What is left is an 80 km valley between Anantnag and Baramulla. But this small territory (12 percent of the state), but it takes all the energies of the politicians and our resources. For, 60 years our minds have been devoted to this small area.
At the same time, it is very unfortunate that a state of 84,000 sq km with the potential to provide 30 percent of the nation%u2019s energy is today ignored. It is unfortunate and it frustrates our youth. Don%u2019t forget that Kashmir is claimed by a small country which does not economically or militarily match India, while Arunachal is claimed by a nation far superior to India.
It is time to wake up. Once you lose Arunachal, you can forget Kashmir. If Arunachal goes, the damage will be irreparable.
The Chinese have built a new airport in Nyintri district in Tibet, just north of the McMahon line.
This airport is very close to Arunachal. On the belt along the Brahmaputra (Tsangpo) river, towards Arunachal, particularly from Tsona (north of Tawang) to the Yunnan province (of China), the Chinese have built adequate infrastructure with many airports. Further, the Golmund-Lhasa railway line will be soon extended till Shigatse (Southern Tibet), it should be completed next year.
But Chinese are always able to complete their projects before schedule. They will reach Shigatse in 2009 and then, turn eastwards following the Tsangpo basin towards Tsona. Once it reaches Tsona, we will have a massive deployment of military hardware, right on the Arunachal border.
There is already a full deployment in Tibet, including nuclear weapons.
The country lost its principles of democracy. 1)They dont want to go for nuclear deal because left will with draw sipport. 2)They cant abide to principles of democracy They want muslim votes so Taslima had to leave the country. 3)They want votes so muslims and cristians are given resevations based on religion. why do hindu need to live in their own country as secondrate citizens. The temple money goes for govt.the taxes from small working hindu families go for Haj piligrimages. The money from mosques go to Alquida.
Thousands of innocent sickhs are killed and congress says it self democratic. This govt is ruining the country Now they are so scared of china that they are supporting the very country which is planning to construct dam in Kashmir which is Pak occupied. These congress people are such a creeps..
I for one do not subscribe that Tibet belongs to China. Tibet was never a part of China. If any one says so, he is a congenital liar. If that be so, what comprises China? and where does its boundary lie? Land bounded by the great wall of China is what is China. The great wall of China - 6000 miles long - was constructed all along the boundary of China, to protect China from external aggression. All land and territories held by China, beyond the great wall of China, are as a result of conquests & annexations brought about by Zhengis Khan and his barbaric hoardes. And, in this civilized age, China has no right to subjugate & oppress people in territories that do not belong to China.

chengis khan does not belong to china he belong to mongolia
India is demonstrating/confirming its impotency under Congress Rule, to support Tibet, who are fighting for their legitimate right. As Mr. Singh said, China supports (Globally accepted & known rogue Country) Pakistan openly in every issue against India but expects India to support China in all the issues. Rightly & cowardly, India also dances to the tunes of China, shamelessly, despite rest of the World protesting Chinese action against Tibetans. India can kill innocent farmers in Nandigam & Maoists in AP (Khammam) but never opens its eyes to whats happening around in the World.

India became Independent on 15 August 1947. And, it was only good two yearslater,ie. on 01 October 1949, that the Chinese Communists with MaoTse Tung, at their helm, came to power in China. When the British left the Indian sub-continent in August 1947, Tibet was an independent country and there was a trading mission in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. It was a failure of our foreign policy and that of the then Hon. Prime Minister of india, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, that we failed to formulate & conclude a treaty of peace & friendship with Tibet and protect its territorial integrity, like what we did in the case of Sikkim & Bhutan. There is no denying the fact that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was an able leader and one of the greatest statesman of his time. However, like all humans, he too had his failings. He failed to appreciate, the astuteness & intellectual brilliance of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the then Home Minister of India, when he as early as on 04 November 1950 informed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, in writing, that Communist China was a potential threat / enemy to India, and to watch out. Unfortunately, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru in his exuberance as a world statesman and in his over enthusiasm to cultivate the Chinese, disregarded the venerable Sardar%u2019s advice, for which India paid a heavy price in 1962, and continues to pay even today.

Well said. Indians are very poor at politics & that is why we fail to score at every international fora whenever India's interests are involved. Pakistanis are far better at it, leave alone China. Our politicians are only good at scoring brownie points against each other within India. The moment they step outside the country, they make a fool of themselves, whether it is the Shimla Agreement or the Agra Summit. Why can't we clearly state that what is happening in Tibet is gross infringement of Human Rights by a totalitarian regime? China keeps harping on this to keep us out. It does not compare with Kashmir as it has always been a part of India before the Muslims came to India and made their religion the sole arbiter for seperating the original people of India. The Partition is incomplete without 100 percent population exchange. The same is not the case with Tibet which the expansionist and imperialist China has suo moto annexed. If Tibet was an integral part of China as the Chinese claim, then why resettle the plains Han Chinese in Tibet for upsetting the demographics by making the Tibetans a minority? Obviously, like the Xingian regions of the extreme West which is dominated by the non-Chinese Uighurs, Tibetan culture is far removed from the post-Mao Chinese one. After the Evil Empire had broken up in the 1990s, the biggest menace the world faces today is the Yellow Peril. The rest of world in general and India in particular will ignore this latest danger at its own peril !!
It was a shame, India with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru as its Hon. Prime Minister was a mute spectator when Communist China invaded Tibet, in 1959. No doubt that India granted asylum to His Holiness The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader & temporal head of Tibet, when he and his followers fled Tibet in the wake of Chinese aggression; but, we put a moratorium on his freedom of speech & expression, to appeal to the World for help against the brutal aggression by China. To add insult to injury, India not only acquiesced the brutal invasion of Tibet & the ruthless suppression of Tibetans by China, but, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Hon. Prime Minister of India was also very kind to state that the invasion of Tibet was an internal matter of China! History will not forgive India for betraying His Holiness The Dalai Lama and the pious, religious & peaceful Buddhists Tibetans, in their hour of need and in their struggle to shake off the shackles of slavery. What a shame! what a shame! This historic wrong needs to be undone. We need to arouse the conscience of people around the world and tell them of the miserable & pitiable plight of the unfortunate Tibetans under the subjugation of the Chinese.

What a shame! what a shame! This historic wrong needs to be undone. We need to arouse the conscience of peace loving poeple around the world and tell them of the miserable & pitiable plight of the unfortunate Tibetans under the subjugation of the Chinese. We need to repudiate China%u2019s claim to Tibet and free the peace loving Tibetans, from the shackles of slavery. Insha Allah! (God willing) it will happen soon with the dawn of the twenty first century and one looks forward to His Holiness The Dalai Lama being back in Ptola Palace in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.
