so what is new all these regional and super poweres have their own agenda. They will take up the cause of a discriminated crushed people if it suits thoer purpose and agenda. However they will help tp crush the just struggle of other people or completely ignore their plight if it does not suit their political economic purposes. so the jsut struggle of the Kurdish people the Palesteninas to some extent Trukic Muslims in central CHina is ignored. Th eonly thing about White western nations is that they are very concerned about the human rights of people of White European background whereever they live. Be they Chrisian or Muslim. So the result is Kosovo, Bosnia etc. The world is never allowed to gorget about the rich white farmers of mainly British origin in Zimbawe. The Tibetans, the Eelam Tamils or th eKurda are not white Europeans and they are in the way of some regional or superpwer agenda. So they will be asked to shutup quietly bear their burden and gratefully accept what ever scraps their racist Governmant throw towards them. Despite suffering far more cruelty and logn term discrimiantion the the Bosnians Kosivars aor the East Timorese. No one poere is perfect here. they al play this game of human =rights abuse and ignore it or actively or covertly encourage it when it suits them. I ghave seen many people in this forum who actively supporting Tibetan Human rights but applauding the Sri lankan genocide on its Tamils and bringing the same old Rajiv Ghandhi excuse.

If the tamil stop their politicians who do anti-national language tirade/blackmail of Tamils when NOBODY IS THERE TO IMPOSE national language.
IT WOULD GREATLY HELP. 5 whips a day to such leaders will go a great way for Tamil cause. We have no nehru who also blackmailed North on national language (kept them backward) and north is not fond of Gandhi dynasty yet Kaurnanidhi family kisses upto them.
If the Chinese extravaganza is not shivered, many worst things may happen in future. China has taken a global effort to trap India in a number of their famous tactics. This includes luring India for cheap low quality Chinese goods and increasing Chinese military expenditures so that they can browbeat India. I'll not surprise if china claims the entire Indian Territory as Chinese terrain eventually. In that situation, our political leaders will raise slogans for HINDI CHINI BHAI BHAI. Shame on them! Shame on our leaders for underestimating the Indian force. In Tibet situation India has surrendered to china.

You are being too extreme. China is certainly trying to encircle India by supporting Pakistan & exerting influence over neighbors such as Bangladesh & Nepal. But China will never try to annex Indian territory beyond some thretened border regions. As far as trade goes, I am more concerned about India's trade deficit with China than the fear of cheap Chinese imports.

The conflict between China & US is good for India on Tibet or Taiwan. More the US goes against China, more will it find India as the essential partner to counter China. But we should be cautious and should not undersell our support to US.
Hi Mr. Shiva I don't blame you for this extreme ignorance. Like you many experts even confuse with what history had in store. But one thing is that history cannot be manually made. You must have certainly come across one which is manaully made by the China. Moreover, History cannot be changed. And the fact that you mention Tibet being under China for centuries speaks volumes of information being distorted in your knowledge base. Did you read anything about Tibet and China in say 7th Century BC? Did you even know that then Tibet king SrongTsen Gampo managed to intimitate then China king "Ghongma" by giving his daughter to Tibet king? Do you even know that many parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim itself and Ladakh were once part of Tibet? Do you have an idea that there is still one live stone pillar near Ganga River that marks the extend to which historic Tibetan king had thier influence? May be you pay a vist to that pillar and read the content. History will teach you where you are. Then there is this ignorance of using the word " centuries" in your statement. In centuries, dig harder the history and you will come to know that in that centuries, Tibet also had occupied large part of Chinese territories. Does that mean China is now gone?.
More so, how long our own nation "The Great India" remained under British rule for not century, but two centuries. What do you have to say to this? Hope you will not sell India too to british once again...!

I am just being practical. Even Dalai Lama does not want independence and he is tired of repeating that declaration! He knows that is a done deal. He wants only autonomy.
Let us just extropolate the history relevance. Agreed China brought Tibet under their rule some years(centuries?) ago. Do you think Tibetan govt in exile is recognised by anybody? Nowadays, people live for the day and many parents are forgotten the day one gets the first pay check! Even US & Europe cannot go beyond lip service! They are busy in Iraq & Afganistan.
The perfect world can boomrang on us. Our own kind have aspirations to get bigger than being in India and have grand ideas! Once we try to be a world policeman, we would have bitten more than we can chew. Moreover, the origins of our great rivers are in Tibet. China gets much water from there. They are already damming for their use. Once you rub them the wrong side, they can ignore us totally. We will have limited alternative.
Please understand, we are ringed by countries who are more inclined to China than us. Once we try to go beyond the brief, we will be isolated.
Yes, Tibetans are aggrieved and we can join with others in raising our concern and show solidarity. Let our govt play the cards carefully. They can back up UN initiatives.
