Some absurd beliefs of hindus do not justify the cruelty in the name of some imaginary "Allah" to fight till the "religion his for him"
Eventually all religions were used to supress the gullible fools. Islam is also no exception.

Halal meat is the best food in the world. It has ruh (soul) of the animal because the animal is slowly slaughtered. I like halal beef.

read todays story:
The pope traditionally baptizes newborns on January 1 and adult converts to Catholicism on Easter eve.
One of the seven adults he baptized on Saturday night was Magdi Allam, 55, an Egyptian-born journalist who, as deputy director of the leading newspaper Corriere della Sera, is one of Italy's best-known intellectuals.
Allam, a fierce critic of Islamic extremism and a strong supporter of Israel, is protected by a police escort because of threats he has received.
WELL-KEPT SECRET
His conversion to Christianity was a well-kept secret, disclosed by the Vatican in a statement less than an hour before the Easter eve service started.
"For the Catholic Church, each person who asks to receive baptism after a deep personal search, a fully free choice and adequate preparation, has a right to receive it," it said.
Allam defended the pope in 2006 when the pontiff made a speech in Regensburg, Germany, that many Muslims perceived as depicting Islam as a violent faith.
The Vatican statement announcing Allam was joining Catholicism said all newcomers were "equally important before God's love and welcome in the community of the Church.
All you terrorists out there...leave terrorism and embrace peace.....don't be traitors to your countries....you be loyal to where you live....embrace peace and leave terrorism

Yes, Mr. Mohd Younus, these kafirs are a jealous lot. Islam is a religion of peace. Unfortunately it is "eternal peace" for the vicitims of terrorism.
Can you prove Islam is the truth - or just some ramble by a guy from the Arabian desert suffering from sun stroke? Why is it that nobody can question or even analyse Islam if its the truth or not. My guess- it must be the sun stroke speaking. Why do you see madman on tv all the time taking offence, because somebody somwhere is using his or hers analytical mind? What are these mad man trying to hide? is it the sun stroke reasoning in most of your book?

Prove to me first that "allah" exists. Then I will prove whether Ram existed or not.

somebody spoiled a young girl's life named ayeshaaa........i pity ayesha...
Worshipping any thing is good than killing in the name f kofirs...
If you think kofirs are wrong why God is blessing them with wealth and knowledge and Muslims are getting killed all over the world? is god blessing you with that killings? Is god thinking some thing wrong in practice of Muslims?
Pl search the web for "Animal Worship" to understand how the system of wroship originated. Various forms of worships we see today is the continuation of the system of wroship of the primitive tribes thousands of years back.
Despite the tremendous growth in science and technology, a good majority of people want to believe in some "supreme creator" and such notions.
Another important point is that almost every religion teaches its followers how to better a life here-after, none of them are teaching how to live life on planet earth!
Also search the web for "Actual Freedom - the third alternative" This is an alternative to organized religions. It will definitely enrich your knowledge about the basic traits of humanbeings.

JGN,
with all due respect... the process of removing the "ego" and the "self" is in itself an approach which is advocated in the so-called "primitive delusions"...
it is this ego and self which has been the subject of various schools of thought, dvaitam, advaitam and vishishtadvaitam...
god is the source of everything pleasant.. that is the basis of this thought process... that is why cleanliness (of the body and mind), respect, honesty etc. are all considered virtues...
"vaishnavas" generally abstain from using the word "I" ("Naan", "Ennudaya" -> tamil).. instead they use "Adiyen"... the ego is submissive and receptive... this is a simple example of how thoughts and actions reflect upon the mind and consequently on happiness...
keeping the subject of god aside, i will agree with you that as "I"ness diminishes, more the peace of mind... two great examples are shri. ramanujacharya and shri. ramana maharishi...
so i would not agree with your statement that religions do not teach a person how to live... rather we have grossly misunderstood it and live in a piled-upon layer of perceptions...

@JGN,
you know, the more i try to control my emotions/reactions without following the basic requisite, it becomes more severe...
so what is the basic requisite?, well ego is not that easy to let go... somebody says "You are good", then my ego gets a little boost... another says, "you are handsome", my ego soars...!!!
so why does this happen... well one explanation could be that our mind is a system of VALUES-PERCEPTION-ATTITUDE-REACTION... i think the subject which you have mentioned also has a reasoning along these lines...
the more we fix our mind to a set pattern, the difficult it is for us to be free of it... then does it mean that we should have no value system at all? why cant we? then again we are apprehensive... if there were no value system and everyone become blissfully happy, who will administer? for to carry on daily routines, a certain regulation should be made... then again we introduce frameworks for life.... we are repeating the process...!!!!
for the world to survive... there has to be a healthy balance of selfless ego and materialistic ego... and for this we differentiate "selfless ego" as actions towards god and "materialistic ego" as actions towards karma (or duty)...
these are just sscattered thoughts which am penning down on seeing your thoughtful post...
