Ok. Let me ask you one simple question in response to what you said below. What have you done for the country/state/city as a means to eradicate the ills you mentioned ? It's fine for all of us to sit in the comforts of our house/office and whine all day long about the problems . But it's entirely different to do something about it. Unless you do something constructive to improve the ground reality, there's no point whining about it.

Let me tell you what I did. There was a time when a meteorite was nearing the earth, sometime in the early 90's. I said to one of my friend that the news was full with it and if this happens the world will be destroyed. And I got this answer "apne ko kyon darna hai? US dekh lega." Again you're generalizing,dude. I agree there are people like that out there but have you met everyone on the streets and talked to them to know they're the way you describe them to be. Again 'racist,filthy' individuals exist in every society and country. Also I agree law and order situation has to improve to check crime like rapes and murders, harsh and quick sentences have to be meted out to the criminals and economic situation should improve to provide jobs to people from turning to crime. What we dont need are knee jerk reactions and statements like India is a garbage country and all Indians are racist,filthy minded and rapists etc You're being racist against Indians which would again tarnish our image in the world which in turn is encouraging violent acts against desis in US and other countries as we've seen recently.

And yes if asking people to open their eyes to reality is selfishness then I have commited that SIN and I will keep commiting it every time. Alas, Indians want to live in the dream world of happiness, songs, dance and festivals. Reality is just not ment for us. Why bother? Kumar, See in the Stock Market it is said that the market has two kind of people the weak hands and the strong hands. the weak hands dont and CAN NOT move the market because they are way too small to move it. Similarly When a country falls to lower levels, its not because of the "few" loose characters, they can not have an influence on the COUNTRY the COUNTRY is too big to have an impact by them. The reality is that the whole system(and system doesnt mean the written word in the nonsense-book, it means the followers-the general people) has fucken(sorry for this word) failed. This country is a faliure, we have failed. its the people the grneral public who has failed.
Anything that shows us the mirror is "abuse" isnt it? And we talk about "Freedom of speech"! See Indians dont WANT to talk about reality. No wonder the dream like song and dance is the biggest "industry" of this nation.

Not leave this country and improve your neighborhood. Report crimes like child labour, littering, petty crimes to the authorities concerned and be a responsible citizen. Put pressure on them if they dont take action. Make donations as little as you can to educate poor children. You can do lots and lots as India is backward in many aspects. The very fact that you're asking me what to do tells me you're apathetic. Also dont ask me if I do everything of the above. I dont but I dont whine on rediff about the problems and call India a garbage country either.

I had experienced that in the way a tourist is treated (regardless of you being indian or foreign) kerala is way better and not biased towards white travellers as one may experience in goa.
Kerala has shown how you can be a top tourist destination by highligting its culture and natural beauty unlike goa which thrives on sex and booze

One fallout of this whole affair is that a lot more people now know what goes on in Goa. Perhaps people will be more careful now. A crime is a crime. This may not be Ram Rajya but we do indeed have the need for more Ram's as in persons willing to uphold the rule of law and good sense and human dignity.

There is shit every where in the world. our country india is no exception. leaving a country or not doing anything abt it, will not solve the problem.
Typical Indian, our courts and press are interested in what kind of parent she was and whom she slept with and in what different poses. Exactly what we do with rape victims, get the colorful details for the judge to read a pornographic case for his spare time probably.
