Third Marataha War (1817-1818) %u2013 Marathas were ultimately defeated and Maratha power destroyed by British in several wars during 1817- 1818. Holkar's forces were routed at Mahidpur December 21, 1817 and Baji Rao II, who was trying to consolidate Marathas, finally surrendered in June 1818. British abolished the position of Peshwa and Marathas were limited to the small kingdom of Satara. Thus ended the mighty Maratha power.

Dear Sir I am really sorry and Sad to hear the views of the author, he talks about the people fighting for India, that we have to do cause it is one country. He forgets that in all wars against Pakistan and China, people in North have fought along the Army to keep them out, they did it for India, not for Punjab, UP or Bihar.I am surprised he is the coordinator of Peace and Disarmament. One major thing: Mumbai gives the Highest Tax , but on ground level they do not produce any agricultural or basic needs goods, if you want the tax to be used only for Mumbai, then what will happen to the poor people who makes it possible for us in mumbai to have basic agricultural needs fulfilled in very less price, you need to give them the share to grow. Mind it we do not pay them ample to survive.i request author to kindly analyse allround aspects then make comments.
