There seems to bemore to the Indo American deal on civilian nuclear deal as no government would risk it's survival on the question of adding just 2% to our requirement and that too in 2020.As far as US is concerned the HYDE ACT is Law in the US and any agreement 123 or otherwise cannot be independent of it or violate it.The BJP is also an equal party to this mess as they initiated this. The `Govt saying that 123 agreement is independent of the Hyde Act is pulling wool over the country,s eyes. please do not disclose my identity.
Energy is top most in the agenda for all countries. Let us make an informed, non-political decision in the interests of our country.
Our 70% dependency on imported oil mainly from Middle East is sticking our neck on the line. So far so good. But oil is becoming a political weapon. China beats us in big deals. We might not be able to source it at all at any price. Opec says there are enough supplies. The crux of the matter is wheher we have reached a point of diminishing returns on oil production. That will mean ever sky rocketing prices as the oil supply decreases. There is already talk that Opec wants to hide the recoverable data,to stall any initiatives for other renewable sources. Iran pipeline looks to be a pipe dream, especially as it coarces through Afganistan & Pakistan!
The renewables are a real bet for us. Solar energy can be the new horizon as the graph of rising oil will meet solar costs soon. The research is on in Europe, Singapore etc but the govt should encourage private initiatives through tax breaks. Solar is ever renewable, raw material for the silcon wafers is our abundant sand. More production when we want it, in summer! It is free once the silicon panels are in place.
Jatropha is another promising source which can provide huge employment from non arable land!
So let us put our heads together to think ahead, not on narrow party lines! We have to exercise the options and solve the problems without creating enemies in the process. We need all.

This is a good point. All of Rajasthan and portions of Gujarat would be eminently suited to large scale Solar Energy projects. The only problem is likely to be that our Scientists have their heads buried in the sand. No one is interested in working they are all merely concerned with their salary and perks.

This in not the first time US economy suffered. They went thru depression in 30s. Japan, Germany and other rich European nations have gone thru hardship. So dont get you hope so high. It will bounce back once again. This is just a short time set back. Your kind of thinking is laughable. They are not stupid. You are in a fantasy world.
USA has no other go but to push the ball to Indian court and wait till we return the serve with our own conditions. USA need business with India. US$ is declining daily. Heavy Power deal will help it out. But India can eventually ignore USA and tie with other sources. It is a win win situation. India never had so great time. Credit goes to our Left parties.

What our Govt is doing will make an impression of Indians as well in front of the Interational community. They will think we loose our balls frequently too.Balls balls everywhere, not a ball to play.....

You are right. In every major issue India drag its feet. Never show any courage. Right now it seems Left is ruling India. They control our foregin policies. A Govt: withour back bone.
Becoz of non-voilence ideology Buddhism is distryoed in Afgainstan and time for Tibet.
Some suggestions, China has boundary issue to nearly all their neighbour. No one can trust on China.
Fact is violence is the only Solution Tibet problem. For that Tibetean have to take weapons in hand. India must provide weapons to Tibetan. As China supplied to Pak and NE-militant.
India have to supply nuke to Taiwan.
India and US need to support east-Turkistan freedom movement.
India and US need to support democracy movement in China which will leads to civil war.
Once Tibet liberated from China, India and Tibet have to take initiative to merge Tibet in India. Because of same culture and ideology.
It would probaby be good for Indian Nuclear Scientists to get a good feel of their own balls first. If we had any good scientists in this field then we would not be in the desperate state that we are in now. India has lots of thorium indigenously available. With good scientific work breeder reactors which have been talked about since the 70's should have been developed by now. There is no room for sycophancy in this field. We need good thinkers and workers not "Chamchas" and "Karrchhas".
