Avtar, It is the whole world which is laughing. I don't understand why this congress is so much of afraid of China. I'm sad to see the situation in Tibet.

:) so when will business starts ?. After Succesful olympics. When china will attack on kargil lines to gain arucnhal
Communists are preventing the govt from taking any action in the case of Tibet, Sarabjit and Taslima. Tibet cos they want to please their masters, Sarabjit and Taslima cos they want to keep their votebanks happy. Mahesh Bhatt and his ilk are quick to jump to the defense of just about anyone under the guise of "freedom of speech and expression" is conspicuous by his silence on the Taslima issue. That apart, its very important to root out the communists from India else we will face a Maoist takeover as has happened in Nepal. The Maoists have only strengthened themselves since this govt came to power.
India is too scared to take a stance on anything when it comes to foreign policy. We are always trying to please the strong. Back in the 50's Nehru tried to appease the chinese instead of standing strong and learnt a lesson. Now the Congress is doing the same. If India supports the Tibetians, then the world would stand to see the issue and who knows the US may decide to boycott the Olympics.

Never let your opponent have a minutes rest. India must spare no resources to fund international peaceful "Gandhi-style" demonstrations against Chinese "repression and cultural genocide" in Tibet. This makes it difficult for CHina to improve infrastructure and communication links with its border provinces where the majority of its alienated minorities. Keeping the Tibet issue on the boil has extremely beneficial consequences for India's security. It can also affect China's economy negatively by calling for a boycott of Chinese goods worldwide to protest against their repression. Of course we need not do it personally. Hundreds of human rights organisations worldwide can do it if they are paid well.
Its not only Tibet. Watch the present leadership's painful about-turns and doublespeak on the 123 Nuclear Agreement with the U.S. the moment the Communists started twisting their arms. No doubt this Government's weak & ambivalent stand on the happenings in Tibet is influenced again by the fact that the Communists have categorically refused to condemn the goings-on.
With a clueless party boss like Sonia Gandhi who has no strong beliefs or principles other than an overriding desire to cling to power at any cost and a spineless puppet like Dr. Manmohan Singh who seems to be driven pretty much by the same desires, India's stand or rather the absence of it on Tibet is hardly surprising.
This lot will continue to weaken the country's standing globally and transform India into a nation generally laughed at & scorned by most countries the world over, till the people decide that it is time to heave this lot into the Indian Ocean and have a complete change of leadership.

The cummies are a disgrace! If it rains in China, these suckers hold the umbrella here!! The earlier we get rid of these traitors the better.
I feel India has not been able to recover from 1962 shock of humiliation from China. This must be the main for its over cautious approach towards chinese aggression. Be it Tibet or Arunachal Pradesh
Sounds nice and cute to the western media when yiu suooort the Tibetan cause from glass world. But in realpolitick, India has done well by not advocating the Tibet cause. How will India react if China chose any international forum to raise North East and Kashmir issue and equate with Tibet.
If world accept this logic, then Dalai Lama will never able to step into independent Tibet. Indian UPA politicians have guts and time to be pro-active? No. They are proactive in appeasing Islamists!!!
