Spare the life of Sarabjit Singh
by jamsheed abumohammed on Mar 17, 2008 08:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Kindness is nobler ever than revenge. Pakistan President should show some magnanimity in sparing the life of Sarabjit Singh as it did in the case of Kashmiri Singh. Pakistan was hailed when Kashmiri singh was released and similar sentiments awaits the release of Sarabjit Singh. Whatever may be the sins of the man, Pak should show magnanimity and immediately save the life of the convicted person. It will do a world of good in fostering friendship between the two countries. Whatever the circumstances in the killing of Khalid, Pak should never ever venture on the revenge. The whole nation is behind Sarabjit and the much awaited hanging on April1, should not take place for the sake of humanity and in the larger interest of bilateral relations between the two nations. Pak is not going to gain anything out of the hanging of the convited man, but satisfying its ego. But in the larger interest, it should desist from hanging in view of the sentiments expressed not only by the family of the man in gallows but also the nationa of over a billion people. I appeal to the Pak President to spare the life of Sarabjit Singh and send him home. India will reciprocate by releasing all the prisioners and similar gesture should be shown by Pak in releasing all the jailed Indians. No one will ever be benefitted by keeping the persons in jail for years together but by releasing they are going to gain the confidence of the people of both the countries which will go a long way in reestablishing ties,

Organized religion and pseudo-secularism are very convenient ways to push hypocrisy under the carpet and not take responsibility and seek solutions in true dialogue, unity, clarity and ethics. Sometimes people take advantage of resources like oil or other necessary things to buy such silence. But the truth can never be hidden. Maybe for a while, but not forever. As long as Muslims do not join the world with One-Law, Uniform Civil Code and Gender Equality and face the same court as everybody else, they will always remain hypocrites striving to keep the exploitation of women hidden under the carpet under various forms of show-offs till politics, economics, ethics takes a wilder turn. Oil supply still keeps their agenda going.

let's not point fingers at the ruling party then, because it could have happened during any regime ... and whoever asked him to do such a thing is not above humanitarian laws.

The declaration of Kashmir Singh that he was spy sealed the fate of Sarbit.

That's nonsense. Whether BJP or Congress, no one would have been able to secure the release of this guy. If he was involved in the bomb blasts, he deserves the punishment. If he was working as a spy for India, no one told him to do so, he did it on his own. There is risk to life in being a spy.

If he was a spy for India, I'd call him a national hero, although spy agents are often disowned to protect the image of their home country.

I think afzal guru should be tortured in jail ... and it will be worse than hanging him ... I just hope that some govt. doesn't get forced to release him to free some hostages like those terorists freeded to secure release of hijacked IA passangers.

SARABJIT, KASHMIR
by pranjal das on Mar 17, 2008 07:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The confession of Kashmir Singh was the last nail on Sarabjit's coffin. From now on all Indian prisoners in Pak jails will be declared spies/terrorists etc. and killed.

I fully agree with you. Kashmir Singh was probably trying to get personal mileage or bargaining points with the Government. But he also issued the death warrant to Sarbjit in the name of the Pakistani Government.

Traitor Kashmir Singh
by Ajit Gole on Mar 17, 2008 07:07 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Traitor Kashmir Singh was released after 35yrs of imprisonment why?
1) He converted himself into Muslim
2) He Did all those things that Pak govt. wanted him to do.

Clarification:
After Kashmir Singh was released the first statement he made was "I was an Indian Spy". (no true professional would disclose that)
Effects: This has actually blocked the release of Sarabjit Singh. As its a well planned plot to pin the final nail in the coffin of Sarabjit's case.
I doubt Kashmir Singh's intentions and he shud be closely watched by IB. You just can't trust this guy. The moment he came in India he started howling for compensation and etc...
To me he is a converted Pakistani and not a muslim.

That is wrong information. He actually went into Pakistan using a Muslim name for spying purpose. This is very common and well known fact. Many spies do the same thing. They have to eke out a living .. so they take the risk.

Even if, i repeat if, he was an Indian spy, he should not have disclosed it. This has endangered the life of many Indian prisoners in Pak Jail.
