In West Bengal, violence in the Nandigram district led to accusations of state government failure to control ruling Communist party cadres, which were accused by human rights groups of killing more than 30 rural villagers and intimidating them through violence and rape. From November 6 to 11, CPM members, whom human rights groups claim had state government support and direction, conducted a violent campaign of intimidation to regain control over the Nandigram area from the Bhumi Uchhed Protirodh Committee (BUPC). The BUPC included those opposed to the CPM's plan to acquire local land for industry, some former CPM supporters, and opposition party workers and was backed by the Trinamul Congress, part of the West Bengal opposition. News reports and eyewitness accounts noted that CPM cadres fired on BUPC supporters and local villagers, killing at least three and injuring others, burned many houses, and engaged in numerous rapes. On November 27, journalists reported the discovery of mass graves in the area. Following a government order on December 7, the CID initiated an inquiry into the identity of the bodies In November a key witness in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler resurfaced two months after the CBI declared that he was unreachable. In December a Delhi court ordered the CBI to reinvestigate the 1984 riots case and file a fresh report. Tytler was accused of orchestrating the riots by encouraging Congress party workers, police, an

which 30 people you are talking about? many in your list are either hiding in kolkata or in orissa! falsehood cant win. what about the police officer sadhu charan chatterjee.he was miaimed and slaughtered by the trinamool goons.forget about scores of cpim leaders/supporters killed and uproooted from nandigram...because of their cpim credentials. last but not the least do not support the hitlerite modi-savvy mamta banerjee...even if she is a lady she can propagate endless violence in nandigram.... nandigram has calmed down and people are back to business....what for bhumi uchhed commitee as no chemical hub shall come up in nandigram....you have NATO even without the soviet union..........
How can US comment on an internal matter of India. Whatever happened in Nandigram is not acceptable. How is it related to US ? Mind your own business. Are u again acting as global police ? Do u have the right to do that ? US is the responsible for many of the human rights violations in the world - be it in Vietnam or in Iraq.

Akshay, the world is trying to Police everyone. Dont you see Cultural Police, Religious Ploice, Linguistic Police, Parochial Police etc everywhere today? All these Police will talk of others and conveniently close their eyes when anything happens in their own backyards/home grounds. We are at the mercy of these Police and that is the future. Learn to live with it.
Indian Leftists should understand very well that Man Mohan Singh Govt. will pass through this 123 agreement at any cost and they will do it without Leftists support. The latest statement from US is clearly indicating that Indian Democracy is a BANANA republic and they can impose anything to India and India Govt. whether it is in minority or majority, they can do whatever they wants as some of the Indian Politicans are stauch supporters and loyal to USA than that of India. LEFTISTS will be cheated on this deal by Congress at last moment for the supports they gave to this UPA Govt. as they dont want a BJP govt. even if BJP is getting maximum seats but short of majority. LEFTISTS should start their political lesson and show their maturity earnestly.
I was a part of kolkata in West Bengal, till 8 years back, with decent education. Cudn't stay back in Kolkata, coz there was/is no job there..hence globe trotting. Just when I was growing up, may be in 2nd or 3rd standard, we saw ppl (afterwards realised cadres) collecting money for sufferings in Vietnam, Cuba..made me blve, that okay may be its one of the zila in West Bengal..I wish!!! and we helping them in need. There was constant US beating in meeting/michil/ bandh (2 most important part of Kolkata's identity today). Why can't you just tk a lil bit of criticism, where u are wrong (Nandigram). I know guys, ur "ball" has become bigger recently, coz you know even with 30 seats in Loksabha you are a major force in determining India's future.
I just want to kick them out of India, they have spoilt WB over last 30 years.

These bunch of goons have kept the entire nation on seize.I agree with your observation on their goondagardi in West Bengal. The only way India can be better off next year is to throw these anti nation commies in the bay of bengal.I sincerely hope that people will ensure that they are deprived of these seats or UPA is kicked out to prevent such unaccountable set of buggers a role in the governance.Let Somnath teach his brothers some manners that he is never short of preaching on opposition.

Of course, brother. The only people suffering unemployment and migrating to US is from WB! People from nowhere do that. This just because the left is in power. Have you heard of lynching dalits, dragging suspected theives behind vehicles, raping scores of women in which many are pregnant, stabbing the foetus with its mother, practicing untouchability,...Do you know where these are all ahppening? In WB and Kerala? Read atleast current affairs before writing stupid comments.

shame on you sahadevan for your double talk what are your people doing in UPA do you people have any ethics ????
my question to left parties is, why do you get so angry with the criticism of you on human rights violation. You did violate the human rights, so it is criticised. If you do not like US, then bring their worngs in front of the public. That is the healthy way of bringing change. Are you not a party who gave the go ahead signal to the government to talk to IAEA? Now if the deal is not signed, this enormous waste of time and money, who is going to bear. You are simply opportunistic as is your big brother congress. Stop all these nonsense.
