Policing in Goa is almost non-existent
by Orange Rose on Mar 09, 2008 05:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its sad that a child should have to die such a cruel death. The policing in Goa is almost non-existent. Anjuna and Vagator do not have a policeman within 3 kms of the desolate beach. The local boys are vulgar and extremely aggressive. The same happens to many whites. Not all die so they dont hit headlines

THIS IS DISGUSTING REALLY,SAD PART IS THAT ADMINISTRATION TAKES THINGS VERY LIGHTLY,BECAUSE EVERY BODY FROM POLITICIANS TO POLICE ALL DONT BOTHER TO REALLY WHAT IS HAPPENING AROUND US,PUNISH THE GUILTY SO THAT THESE THINGS DONT HAPPEN AGAIN,FOR MONEY THEY ALL SELL THEIR DIGNITY IN GOA.SEE IN RAJASTHAN THESE THINGS HAPPENED CONVICTS WERE PROSECUTED FAST.BUT I GIVE FULL MARKS TO BRITISH MEDIA WHO KEPT THE INCEDENT ALIVE,THEY SHOULD KEEP IT UP.
ALSO THERE SHOULD BE TREMENDUS PRESSURE FROM VICTIMS COUNTRY,IN FACT THEY THEY SHOULD TAKE THINGS TO INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE SO THAT THEY REALISE IN INDIA HOW SHOULD THEY BEHAVE.EVEN A COMMON MAN COULD HAVE SOLVED THIS MURDER.THESE INCDIENT EFFECTS THE TOURISM WHICH INDIRECTLY EFFECT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN TOURISM INDUSTRY.MANY OTHER INCIDENT GO UNNOTICED.
THAT IS WHY WE ARE FAR FAR BEHIND THE OTHER COUNTRIES IN TOURISM TRADE.EVEN SMALL COUNTRIES ARE FAR A HEAD THEN US.
IMAGINE THE NON EXISTENT MINISTER OF TOURISM,WE NEED MINISTER WHO SHOULD BE DYNAMIC,HARD WORKIN WITH INTELEGENCE.

Scarlette Kealing- a victim of Shoddy Police Investigations?
by sandeep heble on Mar 09, 2008 05:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This morning, I overheard one journalist tell another that sums running into a few lakhs had gone into the pockets of the Police Sub Inspector who was involved in investigating the mysterious death of the 15 year old British citizen Scarlette Kealing and the Doctor who had conducted the 1st autopsy report.

The family of Scarlette had to run virtually from pillar to post to seek justice in this sad and gloomy episode and the sympathies of the vast Goans, I am sure, would be with her family in their moment of grief. This incident has unquestionably brought a bad name and disrepute to Goa and the blame for the same must fall at the doorsteps of the investigating Police officers and the doctor who conducted the 1st autopsy. The Political Establishment, particularly the Chief Minister and the Home Minister must also not absolve themselves of the responsibility, although the Chief Minister must be commended for subsequently taking immediate corrective steps to undo the wrongs.

This incident has also brought to the fore the rampant corruption that has seeped into the Police system but now is not the time to make sweeping unsavory comments against the entire Police machinery and paint them with the same tainted brush, as there are still a few diamonds in between the enormous pile of rotten apples. Bosco George, the present Superintendent of Police is one such honest and upright officer who can be counted upon to take the bull by the horns. Apart from arresting the guilty off

Apart from arresting the guilty offenders of this horrendous crime, Goans would hold him in high esteem if he could also look into the allegations of %u201Cpalm greasing%u201D made against the erring doctor and the PSI and deal with them with a heavy hand for tarnishing the fair name of our beloved State. We must pin our hopes on him for giving due justice to Scarlette%u2019s family while keeping our fingers crossed.

For too long and too often, errant officers who are involved in scuttling of cases are often let off the hook, particularly when the victims or their families are ordinary people who are un-important or who have no clout of their own in society. The media probably has a role here. While I must compliment the %u201CFourth Estate%u201D for giving this incident the due publicity that it deserved, they must keep up the relentless media pressure going to set the ball rolling. The guilty must be made to face the music.

So how are we, the citizens placed in all this? My own take on this is that, to a large extent, we need to look into the mirrors ourselves. We elect, time and again, the same corrupt Politicians who take bribes running into lakhs of rupees for giving out jobs in the Police force. And there are people who are willing to shell out that kind of huge money, as the Police force is like the hen that lays the golden eggs; and entry into the same is a lucrative investment which would make even returns of a booming stock market look pale in comparison.

It is a shame that in a country like India where the feminine form is worshipped in the form of Sita, Durga, Chamundeshwari that a young girl is raped and murdereda and the police is trying to subvert the truth and help the criminals.

how come the suspects have not been named and why has the government not taken action against the cops who have tried to mislead people regarding the crime. May TRUTH WIN OVER EVIL

I am sure the ones who raped this girl, however, were worshippers of the one and only "Lord" who way is always right, and not some "paganic" hindu god or goddess.

If it would have happened with an Indian Hindu lady in UK or Canada or in India by any Mulla then?
It was in her fate since her ancestors those Britishers sowed these seeds of evils here in India. They did lot of sins on our pious land. They used to abuse our Goddesses by supporting all those 'Hussain like'terroristic painters and other anti hindu activists!
""Give the world the best you have, the same comes back to you"".These britishers fed our holy cows by meat and other non-vege food items so they had to suffer from mad cow disease, they horrifying man created disease agent "Prions".Why not India Government takes any legal action against Canadian Government(that is also run by these mafia hooligans, papi, pro mulla, born anti hindu Britishers) the way they are cheating Indian people on the name of immigration? Actually Canada is just like Siberia of Russia. Their main economic back bone is our money. There's no job, no natural resourses, no cultivation--even nothing is there for their own people. They are surviving hand to mouth like other Britishers. They are totally dependent on their immigration agents only. Each year billions of dollars flowing from all over world into Canada on the name of immigration. These are not black money but 'hard earned'capital of our ill fated Indians who are wrongly interpreting it with USA.Instead, they should invest it in their own country rather then wasting it into those hostile lands. They attract people on the name of old age pension and

Well Mr. Bharat Bhusan if that is the fact, then why do india play cricket with England or people travel to England for visit or business. Rather then digging over the past its better to look at the current scenario.

Bharat Bhusan there is nothing sense in raping a girl. Why have you brought Canada into account. I am sure that Canada will have lot of natural resources simply because it is one of the biggest countries in the world.
