CAUSES
by karthik on Mar 04, 2008 07:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

CAUSES: liberal gun possession laws in US, drug taking habits which make them voilent, jealousy over successess of indians who r the most successful group in US, and bad propanganda on indian and indians esp hindus in media in the west since india was born in 1947

Indians should avoid third grade towns and cities and stick to the bigger towns and should b very careful and cautious in dealing with americans esp the uneducated whites and blacks.

The same he did for the Australian Indian.
Just a phone of 15 second duration to say the President of empire that Indian parents love their children a lot compared to many parents around in the world.
We are not looking for compensations.
I guess that is not much.

well there is difference in the situation of what happened to the Dr. guy in Australia. He was part of the terror plot investigation so i guess Indian govt took some action. The students who got killed is an random act and it happens every day in USA. Turn on the local channel in your city in USA and you will find more than 70% of the news they talk about someone getting killed etc...so there is difference..hope u get my point!

1.5 Million Indians are living in US
by MATHEMATICIAN on Mar 04, 2008 07:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1.5 Million [15 lakhs] Indians are living in US. Even though the death of the student is very unfortunate and action must be taken immediately, we should not exaggerate it as a growing insecurity.

Imagine a city in India with 1.5 million people. Everyday at least 10 people die of murders and suicides and another 30 die in accidents. Comparatives, Indians in US are still safe so far!!!

Even in ragging incidents in India more students die every year.

US ape! your analogy not withstanding, student killings cant be ignored be it in india or abroad. See how heinously the crime was committed.

Remember all these are happening in a row and it is natural that people express concern and it is for the Gov should take this up with the US at an appropriate level.

Naturally it raises questions on the safety of indian students there but might not deter them from pursuing their courses there!

4 people in 3 months, dude.

How about the several dozens of people from Bihar etc killed in Mumbai in the last few months?

If 1.5 million US citizens were living and working in India, you could bet that you would see much higher numbers of them killed every month.

Dear PM,
This is the tenth murder of indians in USA and all of them are hindus..You cried a lot when one minority was arrested in Australia on real charges but you are sleeping when so many are killed here..please wake up and talk to your counter parts in USA as these incidents will rise now because they are in deep recession...

Yes,this is really sad and definitely not getting the kind of attention it should...the number of indians getting killed here has suddenly shot up..But you have to be a crackpot to say, that its only because they are hindus..that noone pays attention...Given a chance you will even divide fruits and vegetables, air and water, into hindu and muslim....You are actually mad that the indian govt stepped in to put in a word for the australian guy.You dont remember that he was actually alive and there was ongoing injustice!I am sure,if the indian govt got secret info that some indians here were going to be killed, hindu, muslim or christian, they wld be forced to step in too!I'm not saying the govt is doing everything possible, but why ask the govt to do everything?even in india, its the ppl,its us,who are corrupt..During riots, the inner devil comes out, people cut off hands and legs of living people and burn them..What can the govt do,if such devils live in society...Before we point at anothers,we shd look in our own backyard. And not rely on the govt for everything!

It is the moral and leagl duty of PM and elected leaders to speak to the president of US and ensure the security of Indian children.
States in US which are not capable to handle the security must say so ; so that our children can retun home alive rather than their parents waiting to recieve there bodies.

Why are Indians hated everywhere ? Even at personal and political levels, India and Indians are shunned and ill treated everywhere.

In Iraq there is a saying 'A kurd has no friend'.

I guess now we have to say 'An Indian has no friend'.

That's because we hate ourselves.
If you spend some time around these forums, you'll find plenty of people abusing other Indians in the name of caste, region, religion etc.
If we cant respect ourselves and treat each other like crap, how can we expect foreigners to treat us with respect ?

I'm not justifying these murders by any means.
The victims are in all probability innocent and these murderers need to be put away for the rest of their lives.
I'm just talking about the way Indians hate themselves and treat each other like dirt.
Which allows foreigners to have an ill opinion of us.

STUDENT MURDERS
by K RAGHU on Mar 04, 2008 07:06 PM  Permalink

Condolences to the shocked family. On a different
note these killings are directly linked to the
liberal firearm laws in US, probably use of drugs like cocaine on campuses and may be racial hatred towards Indians. If the killer is black probably the killing could be linked to theft .Anyway it is important for our Indian students to avoid third grade US towns and universities which are unsafe.America no longer glitters. It sucks....

Anti India feelings!
by MAHESH PATIL on Mar 04, 2008 07:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The current killing spree of indian students in the last 3 months is the outcome of anti india feelings across various US communities. I think it is high time that US citizens understand the prominence of sovereignty to respect the livelihood of foreigners. Laws need to be made more strict so that accused will be bought to justice, and prevent recurrence of such events in the near future.

Only Students!
by Anshuman Shukla on Mar 04, 2008 07:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is important to note that only students are being targeted. They are supposed to have lesser money than the general working Indians in the US. Therefore, it doesn't appear the cases or robbery or other money related crimes. Probably, there are hate waves against the Indian Students over there.

Indian students tend to live in small towns, where sometimes "not very cosmopolitan"people live.Their world is very small and so is their thinking...small town folks...Some of them are very nice, but some are rough around the edges!I have knows friends studying in Carolina...who have had to give up cash at the point of a knife...he was also working part time at 7-11...and its common to have to call the cops because of a suspected robbery...I think thats why its mostly students!
