If Nehru hadn't allowed China to take over Tibet then China could never claim Arunachal Pradesh. Also by not developing the border areas we are playing into their hands. Should the tribals be permanently given ST status or should they not be brought into the mainstream?

Nehru's stupidity and cowardliness saw Tibet fall into the Chinese hands. India being a Soviet ally courtesy the Indian commies could not be trusted by the US. Had India become a US ally Tibet could have remained an independednt State. Tibetans will graduall lose their identitiy as a distinct race. Loss of Tibet o china is a great loss to the World who love freedom of speech and expression. china is a rogue nation who constantly bully the weaker state. It looks like China will some day gobble up Arunachal Pradesh and the Arunachalis will lose their identity and become a subjugate state of China. This is Indian callousness down the ages.

If you are so convinced you are right, then go out and do any one of 13 items you have listed. If you are so conviinced taht what you are doing is right, then do it yourself. Being born and brought up in Arunachal and a person who has shared his childhood with Khiren in a non-descript town called "Nafra" ,reading this interview brings great sense of pride and satisfaction. At last there is someone like Mr. Rijiju who can bring the issues pertaining to Arunachal in particular and North east in general to mainstream. It is indeed very sad that in spite of 60 yrs of independence this part of the country is generally a trivial issue for most of the politicians and people. Once again ,kudos to Khiren for his consistent efforts to make the people and country aware of the problems and issues of Arunachal pradesh
China is a trivial issue, the caste system is killing India specially the states of UP and Bihar. But the castiest elites from these states will continue to deny this fact, till all these castiest elite themselves become the new dalits of India. What goes around comes around. These castiest elites from UP and Bihar treated the lower castes like dirt, now they are treated in an identical fashion by the people from Maharashtra.

When the last caste survey was done in 1931 by the British rulers, compared to any other state in India, UP had the highest Brahmin population of 10%. It also has a very high Rajput, Kayasth and Baniya population. It is funny that the state with the hightest number of upper caste population in India is the worst state in the union.

Admitted Caste system as practiced or preached has it's negative implications. However, name one society in the world which does not have some kind of similar discrimination. If you look at it that way, even the reservation system in India is a blatent state endorsed form of caste system. Discrimination is a part of society. It's a part of the human make up. It's the British East India Company under Robert Clive that whipped up this passion among the Hindus to use it for their benefit and to colonize the country. The bottomline is that on an individual basis, people have to take out prejudices dealing with each other. Practicing caste system is prejudice but practicing anti-caste system is also a form prejudice. As an example of the right approach, the position of the supreme court regarding reservation is perfect. Unless the government produced evidence that a system like reservation produced societal benefits for all members of the society, it can not impose such laws.
Manmohan Singh has conceded something secretively to the Chinese on Arunachal Pradesh. India cannot be allowed to be bullied by the Chinese. The PM should visit the Tawang and take the media with him to personally verify how much the Chinese have encroached Indian space.
Whenever Chinese intrude Indian space, all politician should make biggest noise and invite foreign media to the areas of incursions. Otherwise, these chinese intruders will get bolder by the day. China is a scheming country, beware of them.
It is a blunder not to develop the North Eastern states and Kashmir. The primary duty of these politicians is to give the people the best quality of life. They should take every step to develop all regions of India consistently. Let the private sector invest in these places. The govt does not have resources to invest in all regions.
