why would indian mussalman oppose 123 if it is in our national interest? Only logical answer is that their loyalty is not toward India.

Warning all India about the vicious plan of the J&K Govt hand in hand with the Union Govt, VHP President Ashok Singhal and General Secretary Dr Pravin Togadia said to revoke Amarnath Land is only the tip of the iceberg. The real game-plan is to declare all Hindu pilgrimage places in India as either Jungle, mountain, sea or river places & STOP HINDU PILGRIMAGE ALL OVER INDIA.
Drawing comparison, Dr Togadia pointed out that tThey are doing same with the Rameshwaram Ramsetu, did same when Archaeology department prevented Hindus from worshipping ancient Navagrahas in Konark Sun temple & there are many more such experiences. Once they get away with AmarnathLand revocation, then they will even claim that Sabarimala in Kerala, Swamimalai in TN, Vindhyavasini in U.P., Tirupati Balaji on Tirumala, Ashtavinayaks in Maharashtra, Jtyotirlingams are in jungles, on mountains, near sea, near river; so these lands revoked.
This is a serious anti-Hindu game-plan. They did the same in Malaysia, Jordan, Indonesia etc. Hindus need to wake up against this Jehad before it is too late otherwise these anti-Hindu forces will not leave any Hindu place of worship.

Nuclear Deal.....
by Mathew Mathews on Jul 01, 2008 10:13 PM  Permalink

Just because Muslims around the world is anti-US it doesnt mean that India shouldnt sign a treaty which helps the nation. These arab countries or muslim countries are not going to help us in times of need nor is USA. But we should grab every opportunity to further out country's interest. As for Indian muslims - except for a minority others are not even interested what other muslim countries think. If the treaty is good for India MS should sign and call the left bluff. Let elections come,If congress sits in the opposition it should be all right, its better than dancing to left tumes, those idiots didnt let UPA to perform as expected.

What will be Mulayam%u2019s pound of flesh ?
by birju on Jul 01, 2008 09:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well the die is cast atleast for a parting of ways between the UPA and the Left. Whether this happens in a timeframe that makes Manmohan Singh’s claims of clinching a succesful deal, credible remains to be seen. Right now the Congress is operating in a make believe world that the deal is still on, the west still views India with credibility and that the Party and more importantly its President have always been solidly with Manmohan Singh.

That self-delusion may serve the Prime Minister in showing up at the G-8 summit in Japan with a straight face. That self delusion may also help the Congress spin-meisters in making this farce about national interest.

But if there is one player in this drama who will resort to anything but self-delusion it is the Samajwadi Party’s Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Mulayam will not be self-delusional about the Congress making a real difference to his party’s prospects in Uttar Pradesh as the BSP’s Mayawati works overtime to get him.

So if the harsh reality of Uttar Pradesh cannot be the primary reason for Mulayam Singh bailing out the UPA in Parliament to extend its life support for a few more months, then what could be that primary reason ?

Look at what all Mulayam could be prepared to do if he decides to bail out Manmohan Singh.

He will essentially bury the still-born UNPA exactly a year after its conception.

He will burn his bridges with the Communists who have been his bed-fellows at least in the shoer term

But the most importa

important thing Mulayam will stake is his image as the Patron Saint for all the skull cap sporting rage boys of Uttar Pradesh who never tire from raking up Pan-Islamic issues to mobilize Muslim street protests. In fact it was this same Patron Saint image that saw the CPI-Mafioso leadership from Karat to Yechury line up alongside Mulayam in Uttar Pradesh to oppose India’s vote against Iran in the IAEA on the Nuclear issue as well as to protest George W Bush visit to India.

So if the Patron Saint of Pan-Islamism in Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh is willing to stake his halo to bail out Sonia Gandhi, it is germane to ask what pound of flesh is his Fixer and Broker-in Chief Amar Singh is demanding from his Congress negotiators ?
i welcome’s all to opine on this open question !

Secularism and Islam
by Kris iyer on Jul 01, 2008 04:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Muslim minorities like "secularism". But muslim majorities say, "Secularism is against Islam"!! Even in Turkey, the only officially secular muslim-majority country in the world, many Christians have been murdered there, as late as 2001. In 1918, nearly one million Armenian Christians were killed by Turks, mostly muslim neighbours who turned on the Christians, probably, blaming them for Turkey's defeat in the first world war.
The Zorastrians (Parsees in India) tried to live under a muslim-majority in Persia. Even as late as the early 20th century, they arrived in British India unable to withstand the persecution by the muslim majority. If a Muslim and Zorastrian on horse-back meet in the street, the latter must stop, get off the horse, allow the muslim to pass, then climb on his horse to continue!!
Even today in Iran, Zorastrians who are "staunch" about their religion, may be detained as "Israeli spies". Many innocent Bahais are also hanged as "Israeli spies". Talk to any Bahai to know the persecution they are suffering in Muslim Iran.
The Christian "Copts" in Egypt are migrating out since the "Wahabisation" of Egypt through the "Muslim Brotherhood".
In Pakistan of the 1950s, authorities used to detain Hindu citizens on the ground that they were "staunch Hindus". See Chandra Banu v. Province of Sindh, Pakistan Legal Decisions, (1950).
The trouble is the Hindu elite ruling India has no clear understanding of these issues.
