by j j on Jul 01, 2008 08:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sir,
You should understand the following facts:
-you are a caretaker PM
-you never chosen by the people
-you never going to win an election your own
-you are not a politician
-you are not a leader
Also it is crystal clear that:
- you not going to get a seat in the coming election
-you never going to project as next PM
-you never going to support by congress party
-you never going to supported by communist or other regional parties
-congress never going to win projecting you as PM

So let me as you: What you going to loose or win in 6 months.

NOTHING:

So why can't you reserve in history as the brave PM by forcefully signing the treat.

Let the govt fall. But you won't loose.

So you this is your best chance to place you in history. The future generation will remember you if this deal is going to be win-win situation for India.

GO Man Mohanji GO
Clock is ticking . . .

Not a caretaker PM. India will sign the deal. 5 years with an av of 9% growth, 4% growth in agriculture growth is a stupendous achievement - unmatched by any PM todate.

Time to teach the Left parties a lesson
by Prasad RN on Jul 01, 2008 07:40 AM  Permalink

The Left as we all know for their China-oriented mindset is now suddenly crying hoarse that the nuclear deal is not good for India. It is quite surprising to know that this two-state party can think of what is good for the country. Their blind opposition to anything that is American speaks volumes as to this parties stupidity and lack of foresight. The oil prices are rising by the day and they do not have the guts or courage to tackle the issue despite OPEC making empty noises on increasing oil supply or managing the prices to more saner levels. Instead of seeing reason, they are trying to scuttle this deal to the detrimental of the country. I hope that the Congress has enough spine to go through this deal. The Indian polity including the BJP must join together at least on this issue of national interest and teach the Left parties a fitting lesson they never forget.

Prasad

Dr Singh, lead or leave
by Sirish R on Jul 01, 2008 07:27 AM  Permalink

Dr Harsh,
First of all four years back, Certainly India didn't not welcome Congress against all odds. It was sheer arithmetic of a democracy and manipulation of both congress and the ever so irresponsible parties of the left that came into power. And also Sonia didn't willingly leave the seat to MMS, it was again the circumstances that made her make way for him. And all this hype of renoucing of the prime ministrial post was another greatest gimmick of this century.. how can someone forget all the fracas that was going on live in the loksabha that four years back.

and here again the author is trying to make himself politically correct by quoting "Indian Muslims are far too intelligent for this kind of scaremongering to work"... infact they are the only people who flock to the election booth enmasse and cast their vote to a particular party who satisfy them for the given day.. do u ever think they cast their vote on national interest.. they are only people who never use their intelligence while casting their votes.. not for no reason they are the block vote banks that all political parties try to cache.. u never sense intelligence here.. it is cult following!
and then finally u find another secular columnist taking potshots at Narendra Modi when the context of his column is something else.. grow up people!

Strategic for Left
by dip dutt on Jul 01, 2008 06:48 AM  Permalink

Left does not care about Lok sabha elections. Ruling Bengal is a higher priority for them. At this point Mamata Banerjee has formed unofficial alliance with the Congress to hurt Left Front in the panchayat elections. But if BJP comes to power at the centre, Mamata will lean more towards BJP because she wants to impose article 356 in Bengal under any pretext. This will alienate Congress and the anti-left vote will be split. In other words, arithmetically Left wants to face a Mamata BJP combo than a Mamata Congress combo.

Even Lahore Bus Service could be disrupted !!!

When Bajpayee started Lahore bus service, it was against the general public sentiment.

Inspite of kargil, it was pushed forward.

Because it was a Govt. to Govt. and Nation to Nation initiative.

Mostly parties went along when there was a bi-lateral agreement between India and and other Nations.

Congress and all other parties were supportive of the Govt. initiative.

But BJP's opposition to nuclear agreement inspite of UPA getting far better deal than NDA could manage, has set a dangerous precedence.

Now, every opposition party would try to embarass the party in power with some silly points and try disrupt those initiative.

BJP always set a bad precedence in politics.

It just has set another.

This will only snow-ball to a permanent feature in Indian polity.

For all times to come.

Dr. Manmohan Singh should complete 2nd Term
by raj on Jul 01, 2008 06:35 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dr. Manmohan Singh Saved India after started Economic Reforms in 1991 when we Sold out our country gold reserve.
We should not forget that those dayes of 1970s and 1980s situation. When We sold our country gold reserve to maintain the minimum balance required for our imports. Inflation was high that time also high. Land lines were few and mobile phones were a luxury. The people had to wait for years for a telephone connections after booking. We had to wait in long queues for the railway reservation. Waiting list of 5 years for getting the allotment for car or scooter.
In 1988 India had changed 4 Prime Ministers PM in one year, Mr A.B Vajpayee,Chandra Shekhar,V.P.Singh and H. D. Deve Gowda.

"We managed Inflation at 22%, without us it could have been at 42% !!!"

Yes.

This is the Headlines all leading newspapers and Televisions would have carried.

Day in and day out.

A 1000 Crore NDA shining multi-media campaign would have screamed from the roof top.

All whisper campaign would have spread far and wide.

All forums would have spammed with this message.

That if inflation was at 22%, it was all because good work by BJP.

BJP saved the nation with its nationalist thinking.

And havans.

Otherwise, the inflation could have been at 42% !!!

See, it's only BJP who could have saved the nation.

And nuke deal ???

40% of the present deal would have been 400 times better.

BJP could get the best deal out of USA.

See without BJP...

Why Mr. Modi, dear author?
by WhoAmINow on Jul 01, 2008 05:46 AM  Permalink

Good article till the very end when the author drags Mr. Narendra Modi and compares him with the fear mongers. I have listened to a few of Modi's speeches and all I have heard is good governance and prosperity for the people. It is precisely the likes of this author that confuse tall leaders like Modi and continue to search for tall leaders! Can the author quote any fear mongering speech from Modi?
