I think terming both Nehru and Gandhi as "NOBEL" is the greatest plight of this nation.

I would term them as "CUNNING" instead.

Prime Minister
by rajeev tiwari on Jun 30, 2008 07:07 PM  Permalink

Every Prime Minister should first look at the matters of public interest instead of making the office a dealer for the foreign investment looks like a shopkeeper who sell away the products as a sales man for india while the objective of every dealer is to make money he thinks everything from money point of view and not from the angle of serving and helping the people who look upto him as a leader is the basic difference between a prime minister who thinks from a different angle and is the summary of whole truth why he is a failure making congress receding in next and current elections

Public sentiment is well reflected in this article

I couldn't agree more. I can gaurantee that most of the people in India feel the same way as you have put this here. Great wording and thanks for representing us. I do not understand why Congress leaders still believe the people of India is the same fool of 60's and 80's. Come'n we live in 21st century and we are now very well educated (more than these idiot so called leaders), and perform or perish. We have a powerful tool to throw you out...THE ELECTION.

Just one suggestion on your views. Don't put Narendra Modi in your list of worst fears for people. Being from Gujarat and enjoying my life in Gujarat, I would put him probably in the best league of future leaders for this country. Don't be blind sided on one pathetic incident many years ago. Open your eyes and look what has happened in last many years. There has been peace and harmony in Gujarat which is worth noting the most not what happened in one night.

Is Congress having majority to rule on its own?
by Demo-crazy on Jun 30, 2008 07:00 PM  Permalink

Mr. Harsh please check your facts when you say "The Congress had won against all odds". Actually Congress alone cannot form the government, nor did they have a pre-poll alliance with Communists. This was a tactical arrangement to keep out NDA.

Sonia knew communists will love backseat driving. So, MMS became the scape goat to handle the difficult situation. Also one should note that her foreign origin was an issue that stopper her in her tracks and made for that infamous 'sacrifice' drama. But at the same time, credit should be given to her for her being able to shepherd a factional congress and allowing some elbow room to MMS to work in patches. Arjun, Pranab are the two bed bugs for MMS. Arjun has made sure that he is the blue eyed boy for leftists in Congress.

The pathetic bending before minorities continues relentlessly, Kashmir is in trouble, China is 'finger'ing regularly and the government hardly blinks, terrorists strike at will, UPA can't act decisively, inflation is killing, a good nuclear deal is not taken to logical conclusion (Congress should have used the expertise of BJP - Arun Shourie, Yashwant Sinha, Jaitley, Jaswant Singh, etc to arrive at a better deal or find a middle ground for BJP to support it).

MMS can still do well if Sonia works out a working arrangement in National interest with BJP led NDA. Let them dump the communists.

Left - a great secular force... you should be kidding !!!
by ByTheWay on Jun 30, 2008 06:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

That statement is the joke of the day. People has got an absurd idea or meaning for the word secular in today’s world. For the large part of the political outfits word secular means - to be partial towards Muslims..or I can go to an extend that anyone is secular provided he denounce Hindus. I'm not a 'other religion hater', but what i mentioned is a fact. Strangely the media has also played to the hands of these pseudo secular forces and has adopted an anti BJP / Hindu stand over these years. But this is understandable as most of the electronic media is funded from outside.

Barkha dutt asks "do you think ALL Hindus oppose handing over the land given for Amarnath Shrine?" to Rudy. I wish one could say a prideless Hindu like Barkha should be considered exception.

40 hectare land given for the facilities for the pilgrims, managed by a board under the governor, yet so much of ruckus by some political parties in the state of Kashmir. Almost all of them are sounding more extremist than the terrorists wielding guns. And, Barkha like Hindus don't worry. Remember this land is being given to a body within India, and not being sold.

What do these great "secular" forces say about 65000 sq km of Indian territory taken over by China? What do they say about the Pak occupied Kashmir. Are they having any nationalist pride or not? We are better off if we pack off such Hindus who are worse than the enemy.

Thats true brother..as I had stated earlier its a fashion to be anti Hindu. And electronic media thinks they will be considered a secular channel only when they adopt this stand - thats the apthetic state which we are in today. There was a Nadigram - but did any news channel carried the attack on Left as they did against Modi ? Atleast in Guj there was a reason behind the riot, but in Nandigram it was plain politics which was played out. None of the channels has a problem supporting this pseudo secularism. These pseudo secular politicians and media bhaves in such a way that they want the erdicate Hindus from this country. A congress party can have Muslim league as it s ally in Kerala..still they call them secular and BJP a communal - what a joke !

Man''George Bush'' Singh
by bency mohan gopalakrishnan on Jun 30, 2008 06:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

it is surpising to see the article claims that Man Moham Singh is most reputed politition...
ManMohan Singh is not a popular politition or a politition with mass support like Nehru,Indira Gandhi,V.P.Singh,A.B.Vajpayee or even DevaGowda.
He is a high class beaurocrat who spend most of his life in comforts of Good jobs & high salary.
He become fulltime politition after retairement & never contested a public election. He always come to Parlament through RajyaSabha Nomination.
He become prime minister only because Sonia Gandhi thought that Rahul is not mature enough for becoming prime minister. She know that Manmohan Singh can be trusted than any of her followers, since he did not have the mass support within party or public.
In 1995 ,when Manmohan Singh was finance minister,he sighned GATT & WTO agreements and he was supervisor for globalisation policies in India. Now India facing the results of that policies in form of Inflation, price hike & poverty.
Manmohan singh was famous for his support to USA policies from beginning. He didnot wish to disobey George Bush at any cost.

Congress & BJP are left parties political opponents.Still left parties give support to congress for keeping communal BJP out of power.Last 4 years, left parties give unconditional support eventhough they are not happy with UPA government's functioning.

But the N deal is something which is a treat to India's security in future. If Mr.Singh consider it more important than solving inflation, let him resign

Advani, can you hear this?
by SSSSS on Jun 30, 2008 06:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I was a supporter for party which favours National Interests. I supported BJP for I felt many of its policies were pro-country. Now I see Advani sucks a big time. He is no good for anything. If we vote BJP under leadership of him, this is another tragedy we are committing. Advani is behaving like a communist. If he felt country's interest was more important, then couldn't he support this deal with better negotiation? Whatever, next government cant be better either. All are thieves... Bake their bread in the fire of citizens funeral... I opt not to vote next time. Let it go NULL than go waste... We need REVOLUTION in this country. We need freedom from these suckers. When will time come when these un-patriots die a merceless death on street?

While congress govt is playing political apartheid, Sonia waitress made the Nuclear deal as a family matter between congress and CPM. What do you expect from BJP? Stop blaming Advani for everthing that evil sonia and karat are doing.

Playing muslim card is not communal in India, the most communal of all CPM and congress are branded as secular parties.

Shame on people who vote for these anti-nationals.

Dont go on and blame BJP. BJP's stand is the result of the the attitude shown by Cong for major part of the time when negotiations were going on. Cong never thought that they would require BJP's support in any case. Only when they understood left is not going to yield, they approached BJP - that too indirectly. They never gave BJP the space of a prime opposition party - a total disrespect. BJP was left with no option other than to take this stand. In a democratic country with polarised voters like India, no political party will be able to survive unless and until it take some smart positions according to the situation. Just development or such agenda will not win votes - 2004 is an example.

I think its time for laloo to be the Prime Minister....
by Peter Parker on Jun 30, 2008 06:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its time for Laloo "Lallu" Prasad Yadav to become the Prime Minister. In return he should divorce his first wife and marry Sonia Maino. The other option is for sonia maino to marry Mulayam "Maulvi" Singh Yadav and to have a whole bridage of Yadav-Gandhi's. Then the next prime minister's name would Ram Dulari Gandhi-Yadav.

Or like our earlier PM Morarji Bhai Desai of Mumbai, we can get another Gujju Bhai Desai from Mumbai, who will start his day in the office by drinking his own urine (swamutra chikitsa, as Moraji used to call it). That will lead to a lot of clarity of thought and action, leading to a brilliant administration of affairs.
