It seems u have lost your sense when to write what...Just shut up and keep your self away ...
May be the politicians were playing Vote bank politics and stayed away...........When Sam jokingly comented that If only I would have accepted Jinnah's offer and moved to Pakistan the outcome of the 1971 war would have been different.............He was very unhappy that the biggest catch of POW's 90000(after WWII) was traded with Pak without any consideration,Indira was in strong position to resolve the Kashmir issue once for and all but she missed the opportunity.......................

How to change. Think and Start the change. We are with u to clean our country of all the stinking garbage that is in the form of present politicians.
Hi Krishna, I will be inputting only the 3rd message to your coloumn ( fantastic, true and yet so sad) going on to prove the apathy that has come to rest in the society as a whole.
In this place had you written a review for a movie, regional or otherwise, your post would have been deluged with love and hate messages alike...however in this case, even the current generation or the "net savvy " generation has chosen to remain mum on the passing away of this emeritus personality.
Ironic isnt it?? Summarizing it in a sadist/fatalist manner: 1. Powers that be dont have the civilty to accord the correct farewell to Sam 2. Current Rank and file of Defense establishment does not care 3.As pointed out the country's Netsavvy population also does not give a *hit...
For someone who was instrumental in the upholding of the soverignity, freedom and the military might of India when it mattered the most...Indians as a whole sure do have a excellent way of reciprocating...
Heres' bidding adieu to Sam an accomplished individual, A military strategist par excellence, A commander with no equal yet and a fantastic human being..who was royally ignored by the Country ....May you rest in peace...
PS: For all the jingoistic morons who would want to waste your energies in accusing me of bipartism, religionalism, personal emotions..well you know which finger i uphold in response and No I do not have a Defense background but am a complete Indian ashamed at that for the way in which Sa

not that apathetic..ganesh.. ur message became the 18th after all..nd not the 3rd.. while u were writing up..ppl did come in. But this is a point well brought up..we readers ourselves shamelessly run behind sensational articles.. waiting for opportunities of comfortable armchair criticism..

People run behind sensational issues and MTV only because they are not made aware to. How many of us know what SAM did for India? Isn't it the responsibility of the government to educate citizens about the inputs/ efforts made by people like SAM so that they can be recalled any time. The government is busy airing new channels but the content is getting BORE.....

it's not just the case of field marshal manekshaw, parijat..i was speaking of a general phenomenon..our attention span, our patience for more serious issues have decreased..i guess even u would agree.. but nonetheless most of us feel a strange pleasure in criticism...not that things don't deserve being criticised..they do.. but we r supposed to do a lot more than that.. if we r actually as concerned as we believe us to be. All this talk holds for me as much as anybody else..so maybe i should just shut up myself..and do my job properly first. :)
Noble souls like Sam Ji never bolther what they are going to get. They never work for praising and rewards. They are above to all these things. Buy, to recognize their sacrifice, understand their efforts, one should have something berween the two ears (I mean teh brain). Our Cinema Ministers (CMs) and Presidents (who go to foreign countries for developing business of their son), IAS and IPS and such other "S's" busy to make India rich by becoming billionaires and millionaires, one should not expect them to think about Sam Ji. Which religion Sam Ji belongs to and how many votes Sam Ji can get??? One of our CMs has time to see all the idiotic films but no time to address the basic needs of common man. They have time to write poems and story and "Literature" but not a few lines about Sam Ji. LONG LIVE INDIA. LONG LIVE OUR POLITICIANS. However, something will happen by divine blessing and our Mother Land wil flourish again like in the VEDIC PERIODS.
Its very hurting to see things like this happening. its a shame on our part that people like us elect such selfcentered, selfish politicians. Sam was a great man, great hero and will always reamin one. in one way its good none of these so called leaders turned up for the funeral as even if they had they would have made that a political affair.

...selfcentered, selfish politicians...99% of them are..the rest do not have a say..then what do you expect
well siad mr. krishana. our politician hv enough time to watch IPL but no time to pay last tribute to Hon. Sam. This shame on the part of our Indian politics.
look even god wanted you to be clean and kept you away from the bullets(flowers on your body) from the dignitaries named above , who are now the leaders of this country you have saved.
Well said Mr. P. Its a bloody disgrace ... just goes to show that these politicians can't think about anyone but themselves. No wonder they are selling the country down the drain. When will we actually have a Rang de Basanti type revolution..... it really is the need of the hour.
