Vote bank
by Pheonix on Jun 28, 2008 08:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

May be the politicians were playing Vote bank politics and stayed away(Coz he won an war against an islamic nation)...........When Sam jokingly comented that If only I would have accepted Jinnah's offer and moved to Pakistan the outcome of the 1971 war would have been different.............He was very unhappy that the biggest catch of POW's 90000(after WWII) was traded with Pak without any consideration,Indira was in strong position to resolve the Kashmir issue once for and all but she missed the opportunity.......................

If India had resolved kashmir problem, the politicians would not have been left with any issue to use during elections! Terrorism, Religion, Caste... all these are hot topics for elections... no one would pay attention to politicians if these cease to exist. Development, Health and Education are non-issues acc. to the powers that be!

I agree that revolution does not happen in a day... but what the revolution does culminate very quickly where the old system is over-thrown and replaced with a better system. The discontent of an average indian is already at its peak... the anger is smouldering inside like flammable gasoline... all that it needs is a spark!

It's the self belief that we CAN do it. We HAVE TO do it. Revolution doesn't happen in a day, it has to grow up. There cannot be instant results. Rang de basanti is not just a movie... its the need... in a mature and determined way though

RE:Politicians and 90% Indians are Mothf*krs

I agree with u munish... but the people on this board aren't saints either. All of us here are simply armchair warriors who can write long posts, but when the time comes to walk the talk, we chicken out. The real heroes out there are working behind the scenes, like our soldiers defending our borders (whom bollywood and news channels malign under pretext of human-rights violation), or even grassroot social workers, like baba amte (not people like arundhati roy and teesta sh*t-all-wad). People only get leaders they deserve!

I am not being pessimistic my friend I am being realistic. Do you think what we're writing here is epoch-making stuff? Everyone knows politcians are corrupt, everyone knows that reservations are wrong, everyone knows that terrorists can strike us at anytime, everyone knows where our hard-earned money is going!

Everyone knows what the problem is, but who will solve it?

"GHAR KI SAFAI ME HAATH KAUN GANDHE KAREGA?"

Words can only take u so far my friend, action is what is required.... The time for pacifism is at an end.

Dying wish

It was probably Sam Bahadur's dying wish not to see selfish politicians/crooks/spin-doctors at his funeral. They would have corrupted the air of purity surrounding the funeral of a great hero.. thanks for not visiting LOSERS!

I was being sarcastic buddy, next-time I'll make sure I mention that, so people don't think the comment is emotional or lateral. As a matter of fact, it is an absolute shame that we have forgotten our war heroes, and that too the GREATEST WAR HERO, Independent India has produced. We only celebrate terrorists like sanjay dutt who aided the jihadis, and the media is busy reporting plunging necklines and size-zero figures of celebrities and socialites.
