Thanks for sharing your memories. Whenever we read about leaders like Manekshaw, it gives us a feeling of leadership vacuum in the coutry today.

You have mentioned that you have the recordings of Sam Manekshaw addressing students on Leadership, may I request you to share the recordings, so that we in turn can share with friends and colleagues.

Regards

Dont be too harsh on Dinesh. What he is actually implying is that he is fed up with the politicians and the Government in India and wishes the army would take over for some time to put some sense into our potliticians . I think many people share his view. I dont think he is critical of the army, just frustrated they are not doing anything.

Are you completely mad? Is the army meant to fight the country's enemies and aggressors at the borders or is it trained to provide administration? Do you know what it means to fit a square peg into a round hole? Do you not see the condition of Myanmar and Pakistan? Would you like to be in either of those two countries?

An Indian millionaire who inflicted years of abuse on two Indonesian housekeepers held as virtual slaves in her Long Island mansion was sentenced Thursday to 11 years in prison.

Varsha Sabhnani, 46, was convicted on a 12-count federal indictment.

Varsha Sabhnani, 46, was convicted with her husband in December on a 12-count federal indictment that included forced labor, conspiracy, involuntary servitude and harboring aliens.

The trial provided a glimpse into a growing U.S. problem of domestic workers exploited in slave-like conditions.

The victims testified that they were beaten with brooms and umbrellas, slashed with knives, and forced to climb stairs and take freezing showers as punishment. One victim was forced to eat dozens of chili peppers and then was forced to eat her own vomit when she couldn't keep the peppers down, prosecutors said.

U.S. District Judge Arthur Spatt called the testimony "eye-opening, to say the least -- that things like that go on in our country."

"In her arrogance, she treated Samirah and Enung as less than people," Assistant U.S. Attorney Demetri Jones said. "Justice for the victims, that's what the government is asking for."

Federal sentencing guidelines had recommended a range of 12 to 15 years in prison for Sabhnani, who was identified as the one who inflicted the abuse. In addition to prison, she will serve three years of probation and was fined $25,000.

"I just want to say that I love my children very much," the defen

Guestbhai, you said is right. The world should not tolerate such persons. But why we blame only when an Indian is involved ? Are we so jealous of India ?
Then think of this please !

So many 3rd Rate muslims ( 1st and 2nd rate aprefer better quality ? Allah only knows ! )come to India, esp. Hyderabad and marry 14-15 yrs old girls from us. Then take them to their country where everybody, father, brother, sons, friends use her and then throw her in undergroud cellars, give her a bread and black tea...So many house keepers are taken by them and even killed. Go to Indian embassy of jordan,kuwait,u.a.e, of course our Aaka's Saudi Arabia...and you will find a million case pending. But our govt.dont take a stand. go to Karachi, see what happens to Ahmedia girls and muhajir girls. Even Go to some backward Areas in india where some merchandts of Hindu and muslim and jain communities mistreat the poor people.

It is shame that when some thing tarnishing happens you rise happily.

When many good things happen for India, you burn.

Oh god !your will never change?

But you are right that people all over the world treat their fellow beings as animals. but did you look around in your ambience. Will you sit and have a meal with a dalit in same plate. will you marry a dalit girl, if you are a brahman or else. Oh God, you hipocrates!!

AND WHILE THEY MARRY, THEY CONVER THEM WOMEN. NEARLY ALL HER RELATIONS AND ATTACHEMENTS TO HER HER CULTURAL BELEIFS AND PARENTS ARE CRUELLY CUT-OOF.

DURING THEMUSLIM RULES, THEY TREATED US MORE HARSHLY THEN THE HINDUS.

EVEN IF I AM DALIT, REMEMBER I AM HINDU-DALIT.

Murataz, yes, I have eaten my vege.meals many times with Dalit and even muslims (daal-chawal etc) in the same plate. With muslims we used be about 4-5-6 people, only me being hindu but good friends.Sorry like muslims not eating pork i have the hypocricy of eating habits.

I replied to above message becoz it was written with malice when we are remembering our FIRST SOLDIER SAM BAHADUR and found it necessary to reply.

If you think you are not a hypocrite, well keep it up boy! the world needs more people like you and not like Bin-Ldens and Alzwahirs...and yes, dont equate Modi or Thakerey etc. Becoz even Gujartiy muslims have voted this time for Modi.

Thats all for today.

Sam asked 2 weeks more time to Indira gandhi to completely destroy pakistan. But due to western pressure indira gandhi immediately ended the war after 1 lakh pak solders surrendered. If given chance to Sam then pak would have never buildup those nuke bombs & terrorism to threaten us.
