Sam asked 2 weeks more time to Indira gandhi to completely destroy Pakistan during 1971 war. But due to western pressure indira gandhi immediately ended the war after 1 lakh pak solders surrendered. If given chance to Sam then pak would have never buildup those nuke bombs & terrorism to threaten us.

Well Friend, Ido respect your feelings to have done away with Pakistan in 1971 as the Field Marshal had sought permission, as a valliant warrior; but our Mrs. Ganghi a great statesperson ,that she was , called off the war immediately after the surrender of the Pakistan forces. This strategy has added a glorious page in world history and reaffimed India as a tolerant and humane Nation.No other nation has exhibitted such great leadership quality and a strong National character. How Pakistan behaved in the later years is another chapter of history. But at that point of time, India had taken the right decission. That is why every Indian can hold their heads high anywhere in the world and say MY INDIA IS GREAT.

Is Mr.Naidu not right.POK was formed after the UN intervened and converted nearly two thirds of Kashmir into Pok with a Shimla agreement signed by Bhutto and shastri.Nehru was against Patel's policy of forcefully occuping Kashmir.Although Nehru's intentions must have been to establish peace had greated force been played more intrusion from the tribal areas of pakistan would not have effected which fromed a basis towards the fromation of Azad Kashmir.

Pakisthan could have been divided in to 4 pieces if indira gandhi would have prolonged the war for another 2 weeks. Pak will never rise on their feet if given chance to SAM. BUT due to political intervention pak survived

chase joseph do you know any thing about sanjay gandhi? he was there to serve the poor people. Tell me how many politicians served poor people whole heartedly. He went against his own mother indira gandhi but soon he was terminated. Do you know whom? yes its his own mother. She ordered to lock the pin in the aircraft in such a way that once the aircraft becomes 180 degrees it cannot revolve around to 360 degrees and hence he was crash landed.

its not all rosy friend..we did lose a significant amount of ground in other sectors...like in jammu and kashmir..it wasnt all one way...true we did get nearer to lahore but pak army had made inroads elsewhere...i dont think it was a clear victory for us...maybe we would have prevailed in the long run, but that would have come at a much higher cost than we are led to believe...

purplehaze during the war Pak has american made fighter air crafts which ware far more advanced then indian russian made aircraft. They can attack us in nights also ware as we can only take off during the day. But war in 1949 cannot be consider as victory as we lost large part of our land in Kashmir which is now POK. BUT war in 1965 and 1971 is won by india. Check the records in 1965 we captured Lahore and after the death of shastri our army called back from pak territory.
