It's not got to do with or without being proud. Its got to do with the kind of questions you come up at this hour. Being the man and the position he held, am sure it he would have ben speaking in English, Gujrati and Hindi. Hope that answers your curiosity.
My Dear Prime Minister, If Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw could not be honoured with Bharat Ratna during his lifetime, the least which the Government of India can do now to honour him now is to bestow upon him the award of Bharat Ratna Posthumously. He is one of the most deserving son of India and a great, brave and distinguished soldier, who brought many a glorious victories and moments of achievements to this grateful Nation.

My dear Lalit Anand,
Although Manekshaw is a real GEM of an Indian, 'Bharat RAtna' is the highest civilian award in this country. It cannot be given to a military personal.

That's true! Being a Field Marshall technically he remains a General/soldier forever. But now that he is laid to rest the Government should consider building a great memorial for him at Wellington, his home after retirement from the army.

Dear Ramnathji. How come he was awarded PADMABHUSHAN AND PADMAVIBHUSHAN?

I just looked into the google. Padma Vibhushan is awarded to civilians including government servants, but excluding military personnel! Maneksha was awarded Padma Vibhushan for civil service in the year 1972. As you perhaps now, military personnel are deputed to other departments and asked to perform civilian duties. Even in Defence Ministry etc. military personnel do civilian work as in the case of say, a finance ministry or railway ministry. For example prior to STD/ISD services, we used to call to distant places through telephone exchange. There are telephones exchanges in the defence ministry which were maintained and operted by defence personnel for civilian purpose I presume. I am not sure about this, people who served in the military may be able to comment authoritatively on this subject.

Yeah....it is absolutely true.......Bangladesh is a very ungrateful nation.........cause when it celebrates the creation of their nation......it is a country that has severely failed to admire a nation and its undaunting heroes and their walor that they spent for its cause.....
It is a nation that shall always be a place of pity.......

India's bad time started after Bangladesh war. It was after 71 war that prices started rising upwards. A post card was costing a mere 6 paise and an inland letter 10 paise. Congress government, after the war has started charging refugee relief charges and raised the cost of these items by paise. Similarly refugee relief was charged on all other commodities. There has been no let up in the inflation since that.

You are abs. right. Bangladesh is the most ungrateful Nation. In fact it is a rogue nation supported by our commies who encourages them to migrate to India.
Serving in the Indian army for four decades in itself is a commendable achievement and being involved in second world war, then Indo Pak war in 1971 requires courage and we should be proud of such men are born in our country.
