He passed through life with a smile and ever attentive attitude.I had met him in Srinagar(J&K)and introduced myself as a fellow sherwoodian, despite the high position he gave me time and talked to others who had flocked around him! A Great Life and a Glorious Death. We shall always remember him!
They gave their "todays" to make our tomorrows brighter..... Let the hundreds of our valiant soldiers too be remembered with you Sir.... My tributes to you Sir... You were indeed a noble Indian.
yes my dear countrymen--we must pay our TRIBUTES to those who kill our Enemy whether external or internal--we salut those indians who have been laying down their precious lives though our politicians and bureucrats r totally responsible for the loss of their life.COME on my dear countrymen--we must be on streets to ensure that the precious lives of our great SOLDIERS r not lost any more in Kashmir,Tripura, Assam,Nagaland,Manipur,Jharkhand,Arunachal Pradesh or anywhere else just because of wrong policies of our Govts. mostly run by Congress at Center.ONCE AGAIN ME AND MY FAMILY JOIN TO PRAY ALMIGHTY FOR PEACEFUL PLACE OF SOUL OF THIS GREAT SOLDIER--JAI HIND-lalit kumar
Not that I want a holiday (its a bad practice), but when you consider the utterly worthless politicians we have today for whom we declare weeks of mourning if they kick the bucket, I wonder why we cannot similarly have a flag at half-mast and observe even a collective 2 minute silence.
Will our "president" be going to Wellington to pay her last 'respects'? Will a stamp be issued? Will roads be named after him? Will people be goaded to go into a violent demented rage because he dared to pass away? I think we know the answer.
Whenever the name Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw is heard immediately the moment which made India Proud and gave birth to a new nation Bangladesh comes to memory.
An embodiment of all the great qualities of a soldier and leader FM Manekshaw will be remembered for his great contribution to the nation.
I salute you and pray the Almighty to shower all the blessings and provide his soul everlasting peace in his abode.

I am one of the lucky person to meet him personally at Atul (Dist Valsad-Gujarat) where he happily agreed to deliver a patriotic speech to the employees. It is one of the best moment of my life to listen to him and his experiences at 1971 war and Bangaladesh Creation. He is truly a patriot. I pray The Almightly to keep his soul in rest and peace.
