I M SURPRISED THAT THE LATE FIELD MARSHAL'S FUNERAL WAS NOT ATTENDED BY AIR CHIEF MARSHAL AND THE CHIEF OF NAVAL STAFF. NEITHER WAS HE GIVEN 21 GUN SALUTE AS REPORTED IN THE NEWS PAPERS. HE DESERVED MORE THAN WHAT HIS COUNTRY AND COUNTRYMAN GAVE HIM BACK. IT HAPPENS WITH TRULY VALIANT PERSONS. ONE LIVING EXAMPLE IS IGP KIRAN BEDI. PEOPLE WITH COURAGE AND COMMITMENT LIVE LIFE FEARLESSLY. WE CALL IT SAM DAM DUND PRINCIPLE.

I Salute field marshall Sam Bahadur Manekshaw. He was the true warrior of Indian Army I have deepest regrets for his sad demise. He was the only one to get the honour of field marshall after General Kariappa. He really turned the fate of India in the 1971 war with Pakistan. Which lasted only for 14 days.
I salute Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw from bottom of my heart. We hold him in highest esteem. He had brought laurels to the country. Those who witness 1971 triumph over Pakistan by our force lead by him can never forget his contribution. We could keep our head high after debacle with China in 1962. He may have been forgotten by present top politicians – but we ordinary Indians love and respect him. Though he is no more with us, we cherish his memories and he will be always in the heart of billion of Indian and inspire us with his bravery and loyalty to the country. My profound salute to the true son of India.
