Atleast 4000 Sinhala soldiers killed, 3000 disabled and another 3000 severly wounded starting from mid-2006. This statistics was realeased recently.
Few days back a sinhala military spokemen revealed "51,000 soldiers have runaway from Army sofar and only 5,000 have been brought back after hard try, he said"
For every single Tamil Soliders sacrifice, 10s of sinhala soldiers are killed. This is very fact and their now freedom without sacrifice.

Not as of Poor Sinhala Military, Eelam forces had admitted this incident and while at what situation this mishap took place is yet to know.
