A great soldier, a true son of the soil - we are desperately short of such people in the current times - where a government takes days together to decide on capital punishment to a person who attacked Indian Parliament! According a state funeral is a small gesture by the Government to such a great personality. Jai Hind!
He deserve a state funeral more than any other person in the cabinet or ministry. The goverment is not showing a rare gesture, its having a privilege to do so.
I remember Field Marshal's vist to Gorkha Boys Co. in D'Dun after the 71 war. Such humans are at the verge of extinction in our country. May his soul rest in peace. Long Lve SAM!
I selute very sincerely to this "GREATE SOLDIER"of our nation.and I personally very sad from news that the way how our great government is behaving to attend the funeral of legend.
A person who has put in over Four Decade of National Service.. Fought Many Wars... Commandeered his men in the most decisive battle which led to the surrender of Pakistani Forces.. Padmabhsuhan...PadmaVibhushan...A True Soldier indeed.
I remember during my teens, boys aspiring to join the army would often talk about Sam Manekshaw...later I got to read about him..an inspiring personality I must say..I was impressed by his witty and clever persona..the generations to come would surely remember him as one of the greatest soldiers to have existed on this earth...May his soul rest in peace..

What else do you expect from these aborigines... Sam is not a defence equipment dealer or does he can sway the voting public. Shame on these guys. I wish they die and rot in hell.
