Manmohan .. come clean ...
by Sanjay Reddy on Jun 22, 2008 04:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

One final request :- Can Manmohan make an emphatic explanation to the nation

(i) what is this deal

(ii) how it will profit our nation

(iii) why did he not explain before the benefits, if any, even to the BJP or even now to the Left [his partner in the UPA] though he wants their support

Is there still something there he doesn't want to reveal to the people of this country ? Manmohan come clean before the people of this nation and get the deal passed .... don't try to hide anything ...

Stalemate on N-deal: Left continues to breath fire
by Mustaque Alam on Jun 22, 2008 03:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This deal in not in favor of India. Reasons:

1.With agreement 123 India sovereignty is compromised.

2. Financial feasibility is of nuclear energy not clear. It will be costlier that any source of energy.

3.The most producer of nuclear energy country in the world, France is closing it nuclear reactor and moving to wind or other source of energy.

4.USA itself has not made any new nuclear reactor after 1981.

5.Its radiation will badly affect the population of nearby areas.

6. Negligence in comparatively small Union Carbide in Bhopal affected a huge population, and still affecting, think about such negligence in case of nuclear reactor.

7.If energy is the only motive behind, why govt is not going with speed with Iranian gas line project which is much cheaper. When China shows interest in this project, our govt. wakes us and then purposely delaying this project.

US nuclear deal had nothing to do with energy, is obvious.

Better to die with hunger & poverty but not work and earn money under a capitalist system. West Bengal is the biggest Example of Communist ideology where 60% of population lives in Slums.

If the Left wants India not to sign the deal, then the deal must be in India's interest but against China's. Its too obvious.

by ashish singh on Jun 22, 2008 03:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its EGO of Prakash Karat(PK) thats in play against our PM.PK's only intension is to humiliate PM by opposing PM's pet project. Communist are opposing NuclearDeal since they strictly go by CommunistReference Manual written centuries ago. The manual is ANTI-US , so are our communist who have swolled the Manual. Even the great people who started the Communist movement centuries ago must be ashamed of India's Communist leaders, who in the name of comunist agenda are acting foolish and childish and therby destroying the dignity of concept of Communist.

First , see the example of Bengal and Kerala. Communist destroyed Bengal forever. Its politics on illegal Bangladesh immigrants is for everyone to see. Just by following Communist pricilples on does not become capable.
Look at China & Russia , their Growth started once they dumped the stupid Communist Policies. The Communist Party of India is a party of foolish people who have read lots of books, they are Bookish Coomunist People. they have no GREY matter in their HEAD. PrakashKarat is Number 1 Foolish man in India. BOOKWORMS

Bad Deal Any Which Way, call it Energy or Strategic!
by Chakravarthy Muralidhar on Jun 22, 2008 03:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The impending 123 Deal with US is surely a very bad deal, any which way and all the way. It is very clear that our PM, MMS, wants to get close to the US. The overall sentiments both from the media and the politico-bureaucratic set up are favorable towards such a consummation. The media, especially the new electronic one, wants the deal to somehow materialise. Everyone in it is connected to the West in general and the US in particular through equity participation or management and technology support/ advice, news-network services, personnel training/ education, etc. As for the bureaucracy, the influential and elite higher echelons are having permanent and 'life-long' association with the US by way of all their kith and kin educated and settled in US. Therefore it is imperative for them to have easy access to entering and living freely and at will in the US. US will definitely not give visa to Narendra Modi, but Brajesh Mishra is most welcome to seek permanent residency!! When any bureaucrat opposes any deal which the US wants, such elements are marked for 'special' treatment when they seek to make private visits to the US!! Such is the dilemma of almost all our politicians! They all need to visit or live partly in US during their twilight years!! The US knows how to use even the slightest leverage it can get to spread its tentacles of control and manipulation to its advantage. Besides, the disgruntled scientists too don't mind if the Atomic establishment gets mothballed!
