One may not like Mayawati, but she does not balance or reconcile to others, only dictates, whether power remains with her or not.

by kiainth on Jun 21, 2008 04:56 PM  Permalink

Coundown has begun of this Government. Nobody knows what is going to happen.Inflation has reached at all time high. Sensex has gone down drastically. Now Sonia has taken shelter in Ujjain in Maha Kal Mandir.

MMS Bechare is on leave, God knows but people says Sonia has not sanctioned this leave. MMS may get termination letter from this company.

273 - simple majority.

Now UPA - 220
Left - 59
SP - 37 Approx
BSP - 17

UPA - Left - BSP = Minority Govt

Look at the following chances

If govt. goes ahead with N-Deal:

Left withdraws support, govt in short of majority even if SP supports. Winter elections are forced on to the nation.

Left withdraws support but obstains from Voting against the UPA govt.

Left withdraws support, but SP and BSP support UPA govt, on conditional basis to provide Economic package to UP. ( most rare case)

UPA govt. freezes the N-Deal with continuous meetings with Left.

UPA govt. drops the N-Deal , in a situation where the inflation is in double digit.

PM resigns (in case N-deal is not sealed) which will tarnish the image of Congress as being Power hungry.

After the stand taken by the Left till now, it is unlikely that they will abstain from voting against the Govt, should the Govt go ahead with the Nuclear deal. Anyway, given the fact that the Left is the most hypocritical group, one need not be surprised if they abstain - ofcourse the excuse will be to keep the BJP at bay!!!

Not Surprising Really
by Ombeer Singh Tyagi on Jun 21, 2008 04:53 PM  Permalink

After Congress and Samajwadi Party getting closure, it was expected that BSP will withdraw support to the UPA at any movement. It would be interesting to when left act same as Mayawati today and UPA will depend on smaller parties like outfits of all time opportunists like Ram Vilas Paswan, Ajit Singh, etc. So we can assume that political drama of fooling people has begun and climax will be reached by end of 2008 or early 2009, I mean nearer to the general elections. Everything will happen under the garb of protecting people and every political party will claim its policies and acts as pro-people.

I hope day is not far off when a common Indian will be educated enough to get a feel of these political parties and his decisions will decide fate of India.
