Tirumala
by Shyam on Jun 20, 2008 02:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

AP government is currently involved in converting people into christianity in Andhra Pradesh on a massive scale. Especially along the coastal belt. I know this as I'm from AP.
This is part of their plan to malign Hindu religion. Earlier one of the government officials even said Tirumala doesnt belong to Hindus. Chruches have sprung up there which didnt exist a few years ago.
Missionaries are getting crores of funds from the west which they use to lure poor people into changing their religion.
I'm not making this up at all. Ask anyone from Andhra and he will tell you the same story.
At the moment, AP has 89 % Hindus. In a few years, I think Christians will easily be more than 20 %.
YSR and Sonia are not letting any stone un turned to make this happen.

It's difficult to change the demography in a quick time. It takes a hundred years at least for the christian population to 20% even with the rate you mention. I hope Chiranjeevi's party aligns with TDP and form the next government. That will put an end to all conversion.

the fear of conversion is at least acting as a factor for reforming temples. Dalitha govindam, free marriages for poor people by TTD are good schemes which need to taken to wider canvas.

Have all Congressmen in AP become christians under YSR? Or they do not have strength to oppose him if what you say is true? What has happened to Chandrababu Naidu. He is also insearch of secular votes so what does he promote, another bigtime 'minority' religion?

Have all common citizens in AP are dumb? To let, what you allege, these things happen?

hi syam- in hindu temples it is a custom to have devadasis to attract more pilgrims and to get more money in the name of god. god is helping the pilgrims and giving them happiness.

Why does rediff publish only derogatory statements about Hinduism and Hindu deities but does not publish criticism of Islam and christianity? Is Rediff run by Muslims?

our Temples once served women to elities and we called those women DevaDasis. It was left to the tamil reformer Dr.Muthulakshmi who tirelessly fought against this evil.though it is extinct ,in subtle forms these things rear its head
