by RAM on Jun 20, 2008 11:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whatever bungling this goverment did so far to bring the country lose all its feel good factors in 4 years one must compliment Mr Clean for his stand. He's the only decent guy who stands out among the whole bunch of sychophants of the dynasty and lame duck Congress led government. Chalo Sardar Apna Guts Dekha De in Berozgar Leftists ke samne. BJP must support Manu on this.

Weak Prime Minister!!!
by VASUDEVAN V on Jun 20, 2008 11:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In one of my earlier comments here I mentioned that Manmohan Singh is the weakest PM our country ever had. To this, one of the friends in the forum has taken strong objections on the grounds that because he is a strong PM only our economy has grown leaps and bounds under him. Perhaps my friend is mixing up the strength of the economy with the strength of the PM. Manmohan Singh is an economist and he did wonders as a Finance Minister, because a strong PM (Narasimha Rao) backed him up to the hilt. Thus, Manmohan was a very successful Finance Minister. But, to be a PM it is not enough if you are an economist, but you have to be politically savvy. This is where Manmohan Singh has totally failed as a PM and that is why he is the weakest PM the country ever had. In fact, every Indian PM pales before Narasimha Rao, who was politically savvy and had the courage of conviction. But even as an economist, Manmohan Singh failed as a PM. Take the case of oil prices. He took the call only when the Oil companies were driven to the brink. A strong PM would not have allowed this to happen. Take another example. Last year, at the height of nuclear deal controversy, he took on the Communists and dared them to withdraw support. But, the moment the political heat was on the `roaring lion' became a `purring kitten'. I repeat again. Our PM's personal integrity is never in question but as a `political' PM he is the weakest the country ever had.

Mr Clean may not be the strongest PM india ever had. But he is not certainly the weakest PM. But there are two candidates fighting for the weakest PM of the country. One is Vajpayee and the other is Devagowda. Devagowda looking for an appointment with cong(i) heads , even as PM will be the weakest. Another top contender for weakest PM is Mr Vajpayee, who was just filling the position of the PM , without having any control over any body. When went abroad , he said that he has to bow his head in shame for happenings in gujarath. But as PM , he cannot do anything for Gujarath trajedy , otherwise he will be thrown out of BJP by Modi&Co. Jayalalitha removed her pants every day when she was supporting. When she was opposing, Vajpayee as PM , was not able to talk to madam over phone , even though he was frantically trying for the mada , When Karuna was arrested along with Vajpayee's cabinet ministers.

thank god u did nt say karuna is the strongest PM.
.
ur name tells about the sycophancy.
.
vajpayee was weakest because he conducted pokhran, national highways.
.
kicked ULFA out of india and forced bhutan to kick them.
,
made china tell sikkim is a part of india.
.
i know ur problem.
.
if mad mohan was strong as u say why did he not challenge modi,
.
why did he not hang afzal?
.
u r drenched in TN politics.. i know thats the issue

mr. manmohansingh should act
by Thrinadh vasantavada on Jun 20, 2008 11:01 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

IT is hightime for mr .singh to act and teach a lesson to left parties and their black- mailing
politics.as regards the other allies they are all self centered and only interested to grab power again. they are least interested for nation.
mr. manmohan singh , a real patriot, with no personel interests like others should call this a bluff and make these self centered and shamelessleaders pay dearly at next elections

bjp should support congress, even if it means the worst case scenario
by raj on Jun 20, 2008 11:00 AM  Permalink

i dont blame the bjp's reluctance to support congress on the nuclear deal. its the politics of hatred that kept bjp out of power; afterall, the left and congress got together to keep bjp out of power.

now, congress needs bjp's help, but they arent willing to bow down , instead they are belligerently asking bjp to support them - that wont work. bjp should soften a bit, and congress too should think of india's long term benefit and ask bjp to support them.

Both Congress and Left parties are plyaing a game, a match fixed one. Deal will be signed and Left will withdraw support and elections will be held just about six months before schedule. WIN WIN for both now and in elections who will WIN and who will LOSE ??
We all should appreciate Dr Manmohan Singh. He is one of the best PMs our country ever had.
God Bless our Country

he's the best person in terms of capacity, not in terms of vision, action, performance.

he's had to toe a tough line and quite embarrassingly had to even plead for lower fuel consumption and austerity instead of commanding it. he was not a true PM, who'd powered himself, he was a lame duck who was planted there so as to be a puppet for sonia. lets be clear about that. there's absolutely no duplicity in it. every 15 days he'd praise sonia and ensure that things are in place!
