The Tamils should do their duty and get their freedom for themselves and their children. The Singhalese have started the war on the belief they could wipe out the Tamils or the LTTE in Sri Lanka. Using common sense - if the Singhalese wants to talk to the Tamils, then this mean, there dream of defeating or wiping out the Tamils must now seems and an impossible or a very costly dream. Costly- I mean in terms of CAPEX and OPEX of fighting this useless war. And also too costly in terms of young Singhalese loosing their precious life because of the madness of the Singhalese leadership since maybe the "black July" killing of Tamils. There is only two options - 1. Investigate all the people responsible for initiating the "black July" - not only the Singhalese who did the kiling - but also the Leaders who masterminded this killing. This will bring confidence back in a united Sri Lanka - and the scars of war will have a chance to heal. 2. The Tamils must do their duty and fight if not for themselves then for their children. Nobody will do that for them- only themselves get get their freedom. Read the Gita or read on the sacrifice of the Russian in Stalingrad against the Nazis. Doing your duty - will always win.
I personally believes option 1 is the easiest for both parties- but realistically I believe option is the only options left for the Tamils. Then for the Singhalese who masterminded the "black July" - remember how the Jews hunted the mastermind of the holocaust.
