Left parties got enough influence in India than many regional parties and it is increasing. Just check the nummber of seats they are getting in each election... It is just increasing.. They got the most number of seats as a block after Congress & BJP in last elections. They rules 3 states... Left parties & their ideologies are part of India & it's History and nobody can deny that..It will remain as same. In a caste & communal politics ,left are the only hope..

Bardhan exposes himself when he says that "It is already June 2008.."..This is the crux of the issue. All the while, the Left has been blackmailing the government with the fear of elections to hold it back so that the government is not able to carry forward its development agenda and when it fails, the Left can conveniently put the blame on it and accuse it of lack of governance. This is what happens when you have power without responsibility. Now that the elections are near, Bardhan knows that the Government may call the left's bluff and go in for elections early. Hence the lack of concrete protest from the Left on an issue of such far-reaching consequence like the inflation and fuel price hike. If they really cared for the common man,they would have taken to the streets on this issue much before.
As for India coming under the grip of communism, it is a pipe-dream. Communism thrives in India in small pockets..in states like West bengal,Kerala and Tripura. And even there, they hold on to power through intimidation. The Nandigram attrocities in West bengal and the violence unleashed by the CPM cadres in Kannur in Kerala are prime examples.
The people of India have seen through the design of the communists as they preened in front of the TV cameras in the last five yers, giving specious arguments on their opposition to the various moves by the government.But the people of India have seen through them and will give them a fitting reply in the coming elections.
Indian communists are representing a single digit population of india.but they talk as if are the sole representatives of indian population.they always ride on some or other party to get those single digit votes in parlimentary elections. they talk so much of congress party and withdrawing support to upa governament.but in reality their survival depends on congress party.under cumpulsion the congress tolerates their antics.communists are enjoying power with out answerbility. their only slogan is the over used and worthless secularisam.in their view muslim league is secular but bjp is non secular. what a opity ? indian public has to tolerate such dirty and worthless parties and leadetrs.

No I am for the empowering of the poor using a different strategy.
I want more and more poor to join the Ranks of the middle class.
A person is poor by circumstance but if he makes the right decision. Poverty can be eliminated in 2 generations.
I have seen many a Rags to Riches story in INDIA You got to educate yourself to be productive.

The confidence of Mr Bardhan is admirable. It is similar to the confidence which the entire Muslim world has about Israel. They all believe that sooner or later, Israel has to vanish. A neutral observer cannot be so cocksure like Mr Bardhan about 'left' takeover of the country, but that this country is ready for takeover; is quite clear. The question is: who will come out on top of other bidders? Some of the bidders are: Islamists: Who wish to convert the entire population to Islam. Christian Missionaries: Who wish to convert everyone to Christianity. Imperialists: Who are planning to capture all our resources by sheer money power. China: Who can militarily take over the country anytime. But before any of them succeeds, others like the Left and Ambedkarites will keep trying to takeover. They may succeed, but temporaily. Ultimately one of the four mentioned above will overpower them.
Call a bandh and threaten to disrupt life whenever any government takes any decision. Its so easy to go on a rampage and shout against decisions, but do the left have a solution??
