Who's to blame?
by Narendra Modi on Jun 12, 2008 09:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The writer seems to be out of his mind. He blames the mayawati government but the data shows that the crime against dalits was at an all time high in 2006 which was the time when UP was ruled by Mulayam Singh YADAV (OBC).

Everyone knows that the so called upper castes who commit atrocities against the DALITS are not brahmans but the OBCs. They are not only commiting crime against DALITS but also demanding reservations for themselves.

I feel Mayawati should take strong action against the OBCs of UP. The Brahmins would surely support her.

Infact it is the OBCs like Mulayam and Laloo who are responsible for the bad name given to all north indians.

They are advocates of all the bad things like corruption, crime etc. which every consentious person in India loaths.

This shows your bias against OBC's. Why donot u blame Sonia Ji for promoting criminals like Mulayam and Laloo.

No body blames Sonia because she is of no caste

I have question for you.
Your pain is reservation or it is not based on economic conditions?
Now lets assume you belongs to poor family than
what will you opt for no reservation based on economics or....
If your answer is no, than you are not mature enough, because Dr. Bheemrao, Neharu, LBS, SBBP etc were not fools.

If reservation given on economic basis, will not merit suffer ? Anyhow no political parties will kill the golden goose of political reservation tool ( which was there for only 10 years when implemeted ). It is also true that nobody is interested to build casteless society as every cast people have their self ego about their cast. In short people want to scrap reservation based on cast but are not ready to scrap twisted caste system which is root cause of all this mess.

Why do you bring the issue of reservation here, Mr. Shiva? The point being discussed is about the atrocities committed against the dalits.

As long as our countrymen deny some sections of the society, the legitimate social equality, these issues keep cropping up.

Whether the Chief Minister is a dalit or not is not the issue. What we need is a good Chief Minister who can translate the election manifesto into reality.

God bless my dalit brothers and sisters

Problem still exist

Even if making a Dalit, Ms. Mayawati, the CM cannot help then other ways should be explored. The so called Dalit leaders are incapable of providing the support even full power is in their hand. The people who wants to be called dalits must be feeling betrayed by their loved leaders.

Friends UP is a big state. every poor people is dalit in the country in real. Because the Police, politicians, mafias, so called vakils are one besides others. If a man dies on street, is the duty of state to investigate, but even if relatives who are alive go to police station their prayers are not heard because murders are sitting in parliament and assemblies, because we vote on name of caste, and if we continue to vote based on caste, atrocities will continue to happen all over the country.

Socio-economic upliftment is an enormously complex task. A politician alone canot do that. It needs an all front effort.

This is not 100% true. all caste people treat people having caste lower than them like 2nd class. It is matter of where you stand relativly at what circumstances. It is also known fact that so called topmost cast gets not so good treatment by relativly so called lower castes on some occasions....in some states of SOUTH INDIA...

The job should be assigned to a scholar or a social activist belonging to or working for dalit community.

More than the support, what our dalit brothers and sisters need is equality and mutual respect. Reservation and quota are in fact misunderstood & wrongly implemented policies.

The aspect of reservation will definitely take the back seat the moment you accord equal importance, equal rights, equal respect & trust and equal treatment.

Some times I feel that in the guise of reservation, the natural talents and skills are curbed. Also, the general perception is that reserved catagory people are less capable than the general catagory people, which may not be true.

The answer to your point is social reform, nothing less.

You are right; still I support reservation as a stop gap arrangement in absence of any other workable scheme of upliftment.

For a moment I was looking for the mention of Supreme Court - only to read that SC here stands for Scheduled Castes. Nothing to worry about that, but when a commission is led by the famous Buta Singh, then everything from his pen should be read with suspicsion, after all he is Her Majesty's most obedient servant, and he must sing her song.
