Yes, there are other methods to disperse crowd, viz., rubber bullets, water cannon, tear gases, etc.. But I doubt indian police has ready supply of these materials at taluka level.
When theres food prices surging and farmers want to grow. govt is not fulfilling fertilizers. hows the inflation going to come down!. They know getting money by increasing the petrol fares. doesnt have money to pay fertilizer industy?

its a case of state government's failure in proactively tackling problems. if state government doesnt act properly, PM cannot be blamed for that..its clear BJP unable to maintain law and order in Gujrath, its affecting everybody..

The subsidy business is now going out of hand. Politicians started this game, as it suited their 'money making vote catching' strategy. With distorted price, farmers in certain pockets, used fertilizers indiscriminately, affecting the quality of land. Every next crop need more fertilizer on over exploited land. The fertilizer scarcity should be viewed in this background.
Farmers in one state caused hardship to farmers in another distant state. With growing socio-economic dynamism, the present political management is going to crack. The prime minister, an eminent economist, has failed as a political manager. The impact is seen everywhere.

Yes you are right Saha these Gujjars are innocent but the ones that got killed in Nandigram were all hard core criminals right? Even the naxals are all innocent.

You do not understand the reality. What is happening in Karnataka is not actual farmers agitation it is instigated by people who lost election to bring dis-repute the present governament. It was all started in Hasan & spread over to other district, this is the handi-work of politicians. Farmers are peace loving people & they will not get into arsoning & looting. The situation is being mis-using by certain vested interest(Anti-social elements, un-employed politicians) to create panic among people. I agree that traders too be blamed , they have stockpilled & wanted to sell in black market. Many people already realized already , one famouse guy already shed his crocodile tears not in the genuine interest of farmers. It is the loss he inflicated to his party in the recent concluded poll.
