What a fool!!!America is 20-30 times bigger than Pakistan and has a 200 times more Nuclear weapons..good dreams. I beg Pakistani jihadis to use nuclear weapon against America. Then Bush will himself do the dirty work for India of obliterating Pakistan out of the world map..which he promised Musharraf if he did not join the war against terror.

Pakistan's Islam is different then world's
by B P on Jun 12, 2008 02:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What kind of Islam Pakistan follows? Pakistan is the country which giving whole Islamic world bad name! Pakistan's immature leadership mis-teach the history to their people, teaching anti-india and anti-hindu things to their own people. Their leader found the Islam as the uniting factor of their masses against India. This started with Julfiqar Bhutto ( whose mother was a hindu). I guess we will not see any change is Pakistan's mindset in near future because poisioneous mind never get better. Pakistan created generations with anti-India and anti-Hindu feelings such feeling will not go away in five or ten years. India should always be ready for disaster to both countries.

Nationalist Jihadis?
by Yaqoot Mir on Jun 12, 2008 02:35 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Islamic Jehadis I can understand although that is also a bunch of propoganda, however what is this nationalist Jihadis? how can they be nationalist and be Jihadis? The author is as ignortant as every and typical of rediff hosting all kinds of non pedigreed writers and hate mongers. Nationalist by itself can not go hand in hand with Jihad which treats the Muslims as ONE COMMUNITY inrespective of boundries, I think the author is on drugs like many others to enjoy rediff as an excellent host website to vent whatever is inside them. Grow up!

It is is propoganda, so is 9/11, and Kashmiri Pandits being driven out and numerous bomb blasts in India and Kargil and so on and so forth.. they're are all propoganda!

You must be a muslim born in India therefore you were never taught this by your parents or in madarsas. So no wonder you do not understand what is Nationalistic Jehad. Well it means the ones who want to fight for their nation.

break Pakistan
by black mofo on Jun 12, 2008 02:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The tragedy is that this leaves India no option but pursue the breakup of Pakistan.
If we are as motivated as ISI and Pak army are, then we can do it easily. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be that motivated.

You talk to breaking Pakistan like you talk to demolishing a house to build again? its not that easy my freind, you should have tried it long time ago if it was otherwise. Pakistan despite all her shortcomings ( all thanks to foreign powers meddling and sabotage activities by agencies including your beloved Bharat ) is a viable nation no matter how much you want to project otherwise. Size, basic manufacturing, resources, fairly sting worth armed forces and most of all LINGUA FRANCA

Dear Yaqoot,

Hum ek se deke ek haath se lete nahin. What we've gifted you, keep it safe, do well. Stop indulging in bomb blasts and terrorism. Develop some brains, rational thinking among your people. You Pakistanis (huh, so much for a name dude, you guys.. anyway..) are gifted with strength and beauty. Brains too. But you use it to do bad things and harm others. We call it "over intelligence".

self-preservation vs jihadi fervour
by Nandakumar Chandran on Jun 12, 2008 01:58 AM  Permalink

it might be a mistake to take these categories as mutually exclusive. for the pakistani army jihadi fervour is self preservation. the foremost concern of the pakistani army is its relevance and importance to pakistani society. it can never be to the pakistani society what the indian army is to the indian soceity. it was a greater grip on the affairs of the state. and jihad has traditionally been its way to achieve its aspirations. and such instincts have already been put on overdrive. to balance its aspirations with is preservation requires a great deal of wisdom, courage and patience - remains to be see if the pakistani army elite is capable of this.

India's Jihadis
by deepak on Jun 12, 2008 01:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India has its own share of jihadis..mostly the Islamist variety..Hindus who fancy themselves on a high moral ground easily relate to Islamist jihadis. Such jihadis are found among Indian intellectuals, activists, film makers. columnists etc..notable among these are Mahesh Bhatt, Kuldip Nayar, the jingbang of communists, Shabana Azmi, Javed Aktar, MJ Akber, Arundhati Roy etc.

But dude, these people don't go around putting bombs. But yes, they're pretty low in their thinking. Hey why is everyone panning Javed Akhtar though? I've not heard him make supporting comments about Jihadis right... so I can't understand why people don't like him.. I'm guessing he must have said something about Gujarat riots... he must realise its the Congis who stage managed the riots.. many of them don't realise that.

India's problem = lack of political will
by mahendra sapa on Jun 11, 2008 11:52 PM  Permalink

It's fairly good analysis. But the question is how should India resolve it's border issue. Kargil offered the best opportunity to resolve the issue, but due to lack of political will the problem still remained. The only solution for India is to take chances and if the second opportunity like Kargil comes up, she must take our Pak Nucs (easy said then done, but that's the only choice) and break down Pak into 4 pieces.

Choices for India
by P Zipk on Jun 11, 2008 10:54 PM  Permalink

The authors observation are very correct and the sitaution is lot more serious than many indians are aware of. In the coming days the jihad in India will be on the upswing with the terrorism reaching even medium sized cities.

The choices for India is to build up the internal defence. The Paki terrorists will need Indians Jihadis cooperation in order to carry out their bloody missions. The Indian govt cannot play vote politics in this case.

Also, India should proactively work eith the west and Russia (if possible include China) to put economic squeeze on Pakis in general and Paki army in particular. In coorodination with the US and Nato India should try to determine the locations of nuclear bombs and come up with plan A andplan B to take them out in the near future.

If we cannot accomplish these, we are doomed.

RE:tolerance of world towards jehad
by JGN on Jun 11, 2008 11:06 PM  Permalink
Mr. praveen kumar, the world would be a better place to live if we all get rid of the religious dogmas. Of course the philosophy of buddhism is much more refined as they believe in the well-being of all living things.

Yes, I too think that buddhism as a religion is much more refined compared to others (i am not a buddhist). Arun shourie said that after reading all the religious books of different religions, he has found solace in the philosophy of buddhism.
