Now that hanuman occupies the prime spot( both physically and spiritually)of this college, soon these graduates will be building good bridges like the one built by ahnuman. I mean the Sethu bridge.

Hanuman is one of the several Gods worshipped ardently by Hindus.God is omnipresent & to pay respect one need not have to instal an idol.Idols are installed only to enable to people to assume a form of their choice and concentrate on him that way.Well!!Indian history and mythtologies are replete with several instances where people like Bharatha,one of his younger brothers of Rama the hero of Ramayana ruled the country with sandals of Lord Rama adorning the royal throne of Ayodhya.But those were the days of a different age called "Thretha yuga"while the present age "Kaliyuga"with diverse cultures in a secular country like India gives very little scope for the acceptability of such sentiments.Adoration for Hanuman, of whose I am also one of the devotees, could be amply done in a temple,but not in a college which is public place of congregation of pupils from other religions also.There is no point in keeping the invisible Lord Hanuman as the titular head of the institution while the effective administration is by others.There is a danger of doing every thing-good and as also bad in HIS name;there is every possibility of shooting from the arms of Lord Hanuman.One's fear,respect for God should be expressed in proper ways,but not by assigning HIM some positions as this.Law will not take cognisance of such things and the head of the institution cannot be made a party to any of the actions of the college.Better such mockeries are stopped in communal interest lest none gets hur
Good trick to play with the religious sentiments of common people. Good idea to receive huge donations. We the Indians are very sensitive as long as religion is concerned. We will never dare to think why they have discovered such an idea. We will start sending cheques favoring Dr. Lord Hanuman, thinking we are doing some favor to god. I beleive government will take some action against this wild idea.

JGN, why u r replying out of context ? why u r pulling Islam here ? No Muslim circum-ambulate black stone. Muslims kiss the black stone, as it says, the stone is from paradise, it absorbs your sins and cleans your heart and absolutely nothing else. No Muslim need subsidy to go for hajj. Hajj is mandatory only for rich Muslims, not for the poors at all. Moreover, its not that only Hindus pay tax, Muslims also pay tax. Change the way of your thinking and think something constructive.

JGN, I feel pity for your knowledge. Yes hajj is mandatory only for those Muslims who are strong enough both economically and physically. If you have any doubt, you can ask any Islamic Scholar. I am not an scholar who can quote verses from The Holy Quraan. This is something each and every Muslim know. No the stone was not air dropped. It was brought by an angel named Jebrail (Gabriel in The Bible) from paradise to earth.

Md Rahman - I really appreciate your "secular" views. But I wonder why do muslims use "secular" vision whenever there is an issue / concern raises from Hindu community. As you might be knowing - MITA (Muslims Information Technology Association) - what is this for...? Association for which community...? You wont bark against these odds. You dont have any morality left to comment about hindus.
You need to do an analysis as to what is meant by a hajj subsidy in reality! Do you know that the ever green Air India goes into profit because of Hajj pilgrims??? So it is that small share of the profit that is offered as a subsidy.
If you want to roll back such a subsidy more than welcome but that should be done on all levels and should apply to hindus as well (such as retrieving security for yatras which cost crores, building of bridges, railway stations for amarnath, kashi etc....)

Secular Indian, stop giving us the standard Muslim apologist answer on Haj subsidies. I have done a lot of research on the subject. IT costs the government in real money about Rs. 300 Crores. That is real money that comes out of the tax payers' pocket in a so-called secular country.
As for your mentioning of security for Hindu Yatras and so on, providing security for communal public activities done with permission is the government's job in all democratic countries. No one would complain about security bandobast provided to Muslims public religious parades such as Ashura.
So please stop spinning. You call yourself a secular Indian but you are defending Haj. Isn't that rather hypocritical? This hypocrisy is the problem with the leftists, Muslims, commies and so on. Their idea of secularism is always selective when it suits them.
Either openly call for abolition of the Haj subsidy or stop calling yourself Secular Indian.

I do agree with your first post. However, in the same spirit, you must also denounce government Hajj subsidy. In a secular counrty, it is abhorrent to spend nearly Rs.300 crore a year to send people to Hajj. Since you have not come out and denounced the hajj subsidy, it does give the impression that you are being very selective in your judgement, though I agree with your first post. You can't pick and choose if you believe in secularism.

Then what is your problem with naming "Hanuman" as Chairman of some obscure college?
Where is it written that "Hajj is mandatory only for rich Muslims" ? Can you quote the relevant verse from The Quran?
So far as I know Muhammed had enjoined on all Muslims to visit Kaaba at least once in their life time in order to create a perpetual source of income for his tribe.
India is supposed to be a secular country where the tax payers money is to be spent for the welfare of all citizens, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, religion, region, etc. Why the govt should subsidize any religious pilgrimage (irrespective of religion) ?

The problem is for people who do not beleive in Hanuman . I would not personally want to study in a university where Hanuman is the chairman...I would not want to study in a college which forces you to follow islam either. If the university is using UGC money then they should keep it free from religion. I dont mind people being religious but when it is forced on you , that is different.
The Kings of Travancore had ruled in the name of "Sri Padmanabha" and had dedicated to their principality to him. They were called "Sri Padmanabha Dasas". The authorities ofSardar Bhagat Singh College of Technology and Management seems to be imitating them!

I think he mentioned cow in the context of Lord Hanuman. Both cow and monkey are considered as gods in Hinduism. I am not sure whether camel is also considered as god in Hinduism.

Md Rahman - This simply shows how you are trained in your madarassa about other religions. Cow / Snake / Crow / Monkey / Peacock and even Pig - a sacred animal in our religion. Not a "GOD". Try to learn something truthful before you comment on others faith. If you want, i have a list of sources available to comment on the lines of Kuran - preaching hatred. I dont want to do so. If I do - there wont be any difference between a madarassa educated and me.
