Question is have you read the Quran cover to cover and understood it ? I have read it a little on and off and it did not appear to be a coherent document.
If you know a very good English translation (preferrebaly word for word), let me know about it and I will try to read it when I find time.
Fastest growing religion is an oft repeated phrase but it is misleading. It grows because they have a lot more children, nothing more/nothing less

the best thing for you is to learn arabic & read it. because word by word translation is impossible from one language to another. you can try this if you want.
regarding fastest spreading religion - you can find many educated people like scientist, doctors, engineers, professors,.... are getting converted into islam. Just search islam & science in any searching website like google & read for 1 hour to now more details. I am sure you will read more & more about it

Islam means "Submission towards God, the Creator". It makes sense. If you look at people around, you can see good, bad, beautiful, ugly, moderates, terrorists, a mix of both etc. Those are not the criteria of calling one on a particular faith's name. In any society, you can see terrorists. Since their parents followed some religion, they were known to be in that religion. Regarding Holy Quran, it is one of the excellent books I have read. It is a set of instructions revealed to Prophet Mohammed by God, the Creator, for the benefit of mankind. What do you mean by head and tail? It is not a Novel, anyway. If you study religions with out any prejudices, then you can understand that 99.9% of the world's population are not aware of thier religion in its real meaning! They just argue on each other with little knowledge!! Politically and geographically we can find a lot of bad things happened to all religious groups (crusades, invasions into India, modern terrorism, Gujrat etc etc... to name a few) Do you think that those behind these attrocities are the followers of those religions in its real sense? They were "killers" having some names attached to some religions. Unfortunatley, people with tolerance is an endangered species now. After reading the responses here, I found the same. Brother/Sister, please learn indepth of all the major religions and scriptures (Vedas, Holy Bible & Holy Quran atleast). Then you will know that we all live in the same planet under the same sun! Dear Vivek, you are absolutely right, there is no head n tail in Qur'an. There are atleast two reasons: (1) It is a word of Lord and not Jacky Rowling (or any other human writer) and (2) It covers almost every aspect of life.
This is why the reader requires A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MIND SET WHILE READING QUR'AN compared to the frame of mind we are in when we read a world-originated book or books. Hope you are wise enough to understand!
This is why Islam is a religon of intelligent and 'out-of-the-box kind people' and not dumbs and duffers. This makes Islam the fastest growing religion in Japan and the West!!

Dear Mansoor, you are absolutely right. People are taking Islam through the eyes of the world, unfortunatley. Islam, more than a religion, is the truth. A cosmic one, of course! Some people are using the logic of this world to understand the cosmic truths!! Unfortunately, this worldly knowledge is imperfect and requires constant correction during the passage of time. Those people who shout at Islam is not at all aware of the scriptures of the religion they are said to be in. I personally read Holy Quran and am amazed to see its straight forward approach towards the Creator God (Allah in Arabic). I also studies Holy Bible and Vedas to a certain extend. The human intervention in past scriptures are very high and many times, it contradicts also! Holy Quran, on the other hand, is pure in its nature. I know why most of the people are against Holy Quran - They are leading a wordly life of enjoyment and reading something that hurts their daily life is less interesting! Poor Human Nature!!

Most intolerant and barbaric also. Look at the way in which animals are butchered during festivities; the way in which womenfolk are treated in Islamic countries and that reflects the way their Holy book is understood by their own followers.
