The Indian govt. should take steps to relocate hindu's in Kashmir and give them special settlements which will be well protected against any millitant attack (similar to Israeli settlements in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem). But does our govt. have the guts??? Afzal Guru .... ring any bells?
Yesterday I was watching a programme on Geo TV a pakistani based channel discussing the Kashmir issue, on board was the Pakistani "Kashmir Affairs" minister(India should have a "Sindh Affairs" minister to counter this), Yasin Malik JKLF leader, another person who i dont remember and Retd. General Talat Mehmoud. The total discussion was about what the Kashmiri's want and how to resolve this issue, also there was one Indian by phone line some "Jha". I found it surprising that the Paki's who used to support Kashmiri's were openly critizing the freedom movement and were saying that the Kashmiris are not a united lot and that each Jehadi group is having their own agenda. They have asked the Jehadi's to unite and prepare their own agenda and place it before the Indian and Pakistani governments and then the peace process can move forward. Earlier the Pak govt. was fully supporting whatever the Kashmiri's were saying but now crack seem to appear in their support because the Kashmiri's don't want Pak or Indian interference in their affairs. Also one thing that i noticed that Yasin Malik was saying that almost 1 lakh kashmiri's have died (marytred) since 1990 for the freedom struggle, but there was no mention of the Atrocities on the Kashmiri Pandits who are driven out from their homes and Hindu's being Killed by millitants in Kashmir. Another thing was that the retd. general was looking pissed off on Yasin Malik for some of his comments and not attending the meetings organis

Naptune, you have right observation. Why the Pandits are not reffered to is becoz these muslim people dont seem to consider us humans. Another point, how can Kashmir or even most of Pakistan belong to muslims ? They came by brut force and cruelest of atrocities were made on Hindu-buddhist people of those days and they were forced to covert or die and this is how the Islamic hold came into being in these areas including Kashmir. Now even Paki does not agree the forceful occupation of muslim areas by the Israelis, how come this Indian areas occupied by them become legitimate . But muslims of India can carry on their bomblasting, they even dont need to defend their action, as our Hindu holier than thou secularists come to defend them. Besides our J&K leaders are very selfish, they have seen a possibility to get our of Paki yoke as Pakis are worse colonisers , ask Bangladeshis.
