In the Nuke deal India's conditions have to be met to let peace prevail in the southern asian region. If not there is bound to be clashes between India and untamed neighbours of India.
The names does not need to be mentioned it is well understood.

India need not take up the policing duty of the region. Let us think of India and Indians. Think of the prosperity of India and Indians. Their happiness. Their health, their education. ....

Nuke Deal
by $anjay on Jul 31, 2008 12:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The only way to salvage India's international reputation(if any) and to get out of the Deal is to go slow on the whole thing and hope that the Deal dies its natural death. The next US administration will not be very keen on this Deal.

But are SG,MMS listening??

With or without deal
by Girish Rao on Jul 31, 2008 12:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

there is no way India would have gone for a test in any case. Despite all the tom-toming so-called nationalistic fools here, India does not have any means to defend itself from international sanctions.

Stupid India had defied the sanctions in 1998 onwards. Congress govts and their supporters have no guts for that. Anyway NDA is coming back, they will take care of this. For congress its just time for counting money got under the table for deal and setteling the accounts of MPs who supported their govt for Cash.

nuke deal
by ajith kumar on Jul 31, 2008 12:21 PM  Permalink

several versions regarding the contents of this 123 agreement are being heard.nowhere i find that this is made available to any expert or legal division to get the exact position of india if we sign the agreement. ofcourse our erstwhile president mr abdul kalam has given his opinion about the prospects that india has .but it is doubtful whether the agreement in total has been entrusted to him for a study.
instead of creating commotion in the parliment the members who are sincere and stand by the government ,could have discussed the agreement thread bare and come to some conclusion at least regarding adverse points if any for the clarifications from the government. unfortunate that the matter is left to the publick to give various versions and create confusion in the minds of the people.before it is too late why it should not be discussed now in the parliment when the atmosphere is now conducive for discussions comparing to the earlier situations as hostile members who decided to take different view of the whole affair for the political reasons are now silenced for the time being.

US can terminate N-deal if India conducts tests
by suresh sampat on Jul 31, 2008 12:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think P.M. should go for Atom Test now because china & pakistan both are creating problems at the border & we can be able to judge U.S. & its alliance reaction. (what we have seen at Pokhran Test done by Mr. Atal Bihari)

Do you think MMS has that much guts? He is indulged in dirty politics of saving his govt and benefitting the saviours with cash or ministerial positions.

My appeal
by Raj Ghosh on Jul 31, 2008 12:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

My appeal to all the sensible citizens of this gr8 nation to wake up . If the lovely article above stands true , then we as citizens have lost our soverinity , as our elected people has mislead us . Strongly urge rediff to inititate a petition to enforce the govt to come clean . India is heading towards doomsday .Govt. at centre acting whimsical , some idiots at Bengal trying to stop Nano . Strongly believe Nano's exsistence is a morale booster for us travelling abroad and object of pride of every Indian . Centre in turn shld extend all support , like they have done to make Reliance what it is now .

though i dont understand the matter completely, what is the worst that can happen. when we do have to conduct nuclear tests we do it and face sanctions. that is a reality with the deal or without it.

as well enjoy some power supply and hope that we dont need to test.

i dont understand the problem and why our sovereignity is in question.

Power supply is not a substitute to N-test or weapons. Being Pakistan and China armed with N-weapons, India need sophisticated N-weapons with accurate delivery system and for that you need many tests. Under the financial burden of deal we'll be compelled to not to test otherwise, fuel supply, technology etc will be taken back and India will be paying heavily. In the absence of deal though we may face sanctions but we wont be suffering from financial loss which would occur when we'll be in the deal and do the tests.

Ha Ha Ha !!! This is the problem with Indians from historic times. They don't think well before signing firangi's deals.

They are clearing 'all their stock piles of Nuclear weapons and come clean' by selling all that U235 to India. They have enough of U235 that its a PITA for them to maintain.

The nuclear waste is such a pain to store and maintian that they are covering their back and are not creating new nuclear projects in their own country.

They are dismantling all those n.bombs which can fry world several time that they only need to fry world one time. The balance they are selling to us.

So The Calculating US Apparatchiicks Desire India Strategic impailment...
by D goel on Jul 31, 2008 12:17 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

D/ Goel Pkl.,12.00 Noon, Thursday , 31st July 2008.
the stalwarts of Brookyn Institute somewhere in US were sparring among themselves the various pros and cons of 123 Indo-US Nuclear agreement, and diplomats like Philip Talbott, Robert Burns , and
Steve Cohen all were in Agreement that by no means can Indians under any circumstances be allowed to keep fuel or technologies lent to them once for whatever Reasons they carry out any future Nuclear Arm testing.White Act would enable US admininstration to demand return of all that may be in pipe line or already sent to Indian Civil Nuclear Energy generation Reactors.
The Agreement upholds the inherent asymmetry of Nuclear Big haves and India as a non-Nuclear state that has not signed NPT, so far.
So UPA's sleight of Hand is out, as far as the
knowledge of US Diplomatic Apparatchicks as eloquently displayed in Brookyn Institute
Pow-Pow.
Of course they did gloat a great deal that UPA has survived the crucial Trust Vote and is playing US Ball Game in South Asia.
Equally their other pet Pakis are demanding similar treatment for themselves ,and expressing fear that INDIANS MAY UP THEIR WEAPON STATUS SURREPTITOUSLY ,POSSIBLY THE DRAGON'S COILS MAY BE THINKING THE SAME IN NEXT FEW WEEKS AT iane
OR NSG GROUP MEETINGS LATER!
The double and triple crosses that global strategies practice is fully revealed in these fond deliberations of US Apparatchicks !D. Goel
