Whether exists or not, may be question mark for few, but no one can deny that crores of people have faith in the legend. I do not find why there is a prestige issue to create chaos and hatred. We have otherwise enough problems to resolve.

T.R.Balu said last month in meetings that he is reading Ramayana.No one realised that he read Ramayana only to look for any small words that Lord ram destroyed Ram sethu so that he could use this in his affidivat to be filed with S C.
By mistake without any basis,he made nariman file with S C that lord Ram destroyed Ram sethu
which he could not prove later becouse there is no such reference in any of the Ramayana,either in Kamba or valmiki or tulasidas.so UPA govt has no alternative but to think of alternative routes.but sure T R balu do not agree to such alternative route becouse his aim is to destroy Ram sethu bride but not to impliment project by choosing alternative routes.there are six alternative routes including via Ram sethu route

Why politicize Sethusamudram Project. It is for the good of India. I know the story (told by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam) how the Catholic Bishop of Trivandrum allowed to distory his Cathedral and Bishop's house for The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) on the Arabian Sea coastline of Trivandrum, Kerala. Do not mix politics with religion, just to topple a development project.

sethu samudram project is not good for country. this will open this closed waters to international water so that pakisthan,chinese and american navies can pass through this.this will endanger our coastal areas particularly of kalpakkam nuclear reactors.it kills fishing, ecological,marine biosphere,environmental besides above,it opens the gate for TSUNAMI to sweep entire coastal tamilnadu and kerala.apart from above,economically it is unviable project as its depth is just 10 meters and narrow channel which will allow navigation of only smaller tonnage ships.bigger ships can not pass through. due to narrowness,mud sediments will be deposited often and dredging is round the year. pilotage,tugging services,inspection by suez canal authority at high fees every year will make expensive to operate.trade traffic to tuticorin is less via south east asia but via other directions which ships no need to transit via sethu channel.finally you kill the sentiments of faith of 800 millions people long belief. better UPA gove put a coastal railway line service to cater to common people needs alongside the coastal area instead of helping few ships owners profit.only balu and karuna will benefit in this project.

The lousy Congress as*es in that party have destroyed the nation since the last 60 years. Gandhiji told to dissolve the Congress after Independence but Nehru kept it alive for his own interests. India don't need and can't afford 30 useless national parties!! I can't imagine India ruled by Mayawati or Laloo too. Shoot the Congress and Left. Am not supporting only BJP rule. Vote for the party which has no Religion and Reservation nonsense. Bottom line is, Indian constitution needs to be overhauled with redefining powers of President and PM and a fix on total number of national parties. I feel Governor post or CM posts in the states must be scrapped, keep only one. So I think Four party system would be more than enough, instead of copying two party US system which is dominant here.

all tamilians are NOT against RAM SETHU.it is only people belonging to DMK,DK,MDMK,VIDUDHALI CHIRUTHAI,MUSLIM LEAGUE parties are bent upon destroying the ram sethu because for these parties, anything connected with BRAHMINS HAVE TO BE DESTROYED. that is why 90% of brahmins have left TAMILNADU for places wher more saner people live. also this project is pushed by the DMK minister with the blessings of KARUNANIDHI, because they have already cornered all the contracts for this project,amounting to 2000 crores.if this project goes through, then DMK can buy any party MLA to join DMK, and they and their family members (from 3 wives of KARUNANIDHI)will rule TAMILNADU as their private property.
now about the negative aspects of this project,the channel,even if it is made, can not take heavy ships and tankers because draught is not sufficient for their safe passage. only medium sized ships can go through with less DWT,and small boats can anyway ply even now. they do not need deep channel.therfore spending such a large amount of money on this project is absolutely foolish,and it will only make KARUNANIDHI AND DMK MINISTERS billioners and millionars respy.

The concept of 'Dravidians vs Aryans' is a tool used by the DMK to revv up passions in Tamil Nadu...No one knows when and how aryans came to India...some say they originated here and travelled out...so on what basis do these guys claim to be dravidians oppressed by the Aryans?...enough research has not been done on these subjects...all we learnt on this subject was from the british who wanted to divide us!
why shouldn't the government go ahead with the project ? why don't the ppl against the project look at a geographic location which will get benefited immensely due to this single project ? what is that u do with that small piece of land now ? will u be able to go there ? ... In the name of religion , GOD and race , all u guys hamper the progress of humanity. U guys who show staunch faith on something called religion , why dont u show it on something called HUMANITY ? . This holds good to all religion . Just live in that hatred towards ppl belonging to other religion. U will never feel peace. Religion is only a way to feel or attain that supreme power. Setusamundram project is neither ecologically desirable nor economically viable. Vijay can you tell us which ship will use this route. naval chief has already said that this narrow chanel won't help much to security purpose. Go and see national Geographic to see the size of ships commissioned by international business. This channel at best will ferry small boats from calcutt to nagpattnam. And the two are linked by road. Advise Tamil nadu government to develope nagapattnam Port. There is absolutely no need to disturb Ram Setu.

Well said, India needs new ports and upgrade the existing one to manage the huge container traffic and super tankers which gonna dock more in India. By 2012, existing ports would be chocked. New Airports are at least good in some way or the other down the line. But why they need to disturb the place? Why the hell they need to toss the name of Rama? Is this not Blasphemy? Maybe Congress morronss have forgot what Gandhiji used to say - Ram Rajy!!
