Good article but unrealted Nuclear stuff.
by Sandeep on Jul 29, 2008 01:22 AM  Permalink

This is a good article and should be read carefully for a lot of good points. Islamic terrorism needs to be countered immediately and maybe POTA should be re-instated.

However, the only confusing/incorrect part is Nuclear deal stuff. That is not going to effect anything as far as India's nuclear capability is concerned. India will still retain the Nuclear bombs and the reactors which are deemed for Military use will be kept out of any inspections.
Actually nuclear deal will help India to get economically stronger which will help the country becoming stronger and so be able to stand up to Paki's/chinese designs which is why Pakis oppose it.

I totally agree with Author on we should borrow what is good from west but keep our good stuff intact also.

To get better politicians, we need better citizens first. Very easy to pin point the faults of others and what they need to do and change etc..but do you yourself implement those changes?

A Long time back there was a lady who went to a MUNI asking his blessing for her son and to ask him to instruct her son to not to eat to much of sweet...The MUNI asked the lady to come back after 10 days. When then lady came back after 10 days, MUNI told her son not to eat to much of sweet as it is not good for health. The lady got surprised and asked the muni why didn't he said the same thing to her son in her last visit and instead asked her to come back after 10 days? For this the MUNI replied "Thats because i also used to eat lot of sweet and how could i have ask your son to stop eating it. So i wanted to stop myself first and then tp tell him".

We need to have that thought process.

Great and thoughtful article by Gautier. Remarks about Missionaries - is a factual observation. Any business with america comes with this missionary package - South Korea is a case in point. Within just a few decades - the country changed its character and lost its soul. See what happened in Iraq - they first bombed the country into stone ages - No sooner, rice christians were seen descending like vultures. That they couldn't sell this in Iraq and reap souls - the resistance was so violent -is another story.

Thanks again for the great article!

I agree and disagree

I agree on the part on how shud we deal with terrorism. Out leaders shud work on both federal agency and stringent laws. By blocking each other, Congress and BJP are helping terrorists, whereas they shud help each other to block terrorists. Also, now it has become almost a necessity to use cameras at public places, that step does not need lots of thinking.

But as far as nuke deal is concerned, why does author feel that our foreign policy and safety will be compromised? Nothing like that is going to happen. Just take it as another business agreement.

When we have Amar,MullaYam,Lalu and communists all our converted brothers have to do is given these guys votes and keep exploding bombs or increase in number or cheat poor or brainwashed Hindus by showing them cross floating on water.

This author is totally correct in his views, if you read what Obama, the presidential Democratic USA presidential candidate said in an interview about the US aid to Pakistan (app 10 Billion US $) which has been utilised to prop up the Pakistani military with only one objective to increase its defensive position against India instead of fighting against the Talibans and the Taliban menace.USA cannot be trusted, just what Sadaam found out. USA has only selfish motives and the NUclear deal has only American selfish motives behind it, so it is beter scuppered.

Save India

Dear India
The N-deal, surrendering our sovereignty.
Signed on the black day
All political parties are out with scam, criticisms,
Terrorism, fire accidents,blames, failures etc.
More subjects will be born and die out to keep the people busy
Like the story of a dog and the bone
Very soon the N-deal will be signed by our “respected PM”.
With his hand tainted while making a scar on Indian democracy
With a sharpened dagger
Putting all hopes on foreigners, not Indians
Forgetting Babha and Nehru and their vision
To get nuclear energy after a decade!
Projecting a glossy picture ahead.
Several discussions are over on project implementation.
The agreements are ready to sign including LOANS.
With intriguing clauses with far reaching consequences
Limiting India's interference
All shrouded in the word 'confidential'
To be signed in the dotted lines.
The congress has no say again.
They have already collected the 'share'.
In between, other political parties had the share,
Hope not?
The details could be known via media or gossip?
The whole drama will continue till all papers are signed.
Looser?
The dear nation- its sovereignty and independence.
Gained through sacrifices of many PATRIOTS
Across the country, spanning 100 years.
Start flow of FDI -abundant
The share market get a sudden boost
Destined to stop when the FDI stops
Feel of comfort in every field for a while.
And decline in cultural values
Contd...

Dilly dallying by special interests
Delay in project, call for revision of project cost
Leaders of the day get the share, both sides
No murmuring!
Device mechanism to link unit price with inflation
If not in the signed deal, technically right.
No murmuring!
Excuses from treasury benches, allegations from opposition.
Everything moves as scheduled by the unknown source
Uranium shortage, excuses, blame on world market
Regular revision of unit price
Linked to the dictated price of Uranium
Near end of Uranium supply, idling the plant
Decommissioning of plants,
Keep nuclear waste safe for ten thousand years
Herculean task indeed
$3 Billions per year for ten years for every plant
By the present international data and standard.
All finance from foreign loans.
The one politicians love
Defined by the words perestroika and glasnost
Only in words, not in deeds.
In between the Indian financial structure crumble.
Government looses all controls,
Inflation rise to unimaginable levels.
Wish not happen!
Excuses and blames.....
Destruction of cultural values built over eons
God may protect us from radiation and terrorists
....
.....
The individuals worked for the N-deal live in oblivion.

Intelligentsia, NGOs, Non political organizations, individuals
Think over
The people's demand,
Keep India united
SAVE US!!

Your whole post is a rhetoric based on unfounded and imagined conspiracies.
Only fact you try to give is:
"
Decommissioning of plants...
Costing $3 Billions per year for 10 years for every plant.
"
And this too is based on wrong information. As per you, this is about $30 Billion for a plant which is totally away from realistic numbers.
Current plants can be decommissioned at a fraction of cost to what you say. Estimates now average $325 million per reactor.
And, Uranium supply is no-where near end. Atleast 100 years or so to go before that is projected to happen. Oil etc will be long finished by then.

With this kind of post, how do you expect anyone to think over?

Please research a little bit what you find and then post. No point in cutting and pasting from some propaganda material.

Mr.Sandeep
Thanks for the post giving me a chance to state my version.
The post is not from unfounded and imagined conspiracies. This is not just cutting and pasting from some propaganda material. I wrote what I felt correct. I had some references to support my posts. The Sellafield nuclear plant (Briton)is in the process of decommissioning. The contract have been finalised. Just google “Group up for 17bn Sellafield job” and satisfy yourself. The project cost is estimated as 1.7 Billion Sterling pound per year for ten years. I presume the paper will not publish false news. Read the connected links and satisfy yourself about problems connected with the nuclear stations.

Regarding the availability of Uranium my post is based on a satement made by Dr APJ.Abdul Kalam made in April 2007. Google “ N-deal pact will not provide the right fuel Kalam” or try the url dnaindia DOTcom/report. asp?newsid= 1149109 suitably editing the url. I do not know whether the moderator allows this to be posted.

Important: I am not against nuclear energy. But we must study all sides before taking decisions.

My friend,
Author is not suggesting that its dead. But it will if spineless pseudosecularists such as congress is ruling the country. He is suggesting that we should protect the country well from terrorism and maintain the ancient Indian culture. India may be the only country where justice is not provided to the majority community (Hindus). This is the reason that Indian civilization might vanish if something is not doe about it.
