Indian voters mainly prefer to vote for corrupt politicians, and prefer corrupt ideologies. These corrupt politicians in return betray the society as a whole, turning a blind eye to basic issues like terrorism, giving priority to promoting the welfare state. There needs to be partition of the country, so that those with hard-working values don't have to be blackmailed by those who prefer shortcuts like quotas and terrorism.

I really dont find words to appreciate the author Francois Gautier. It's the same line of thinking I had for last 1 week, right from the Business tycoons inactivity to a normal Indian public behaviour change to accept all kinds of frauds by politicians. In fact, many of my friends and colleagues also shared the same thoughts. It's for the Indian politicians to understand now that there is a big change awaiting in the society.
Post 1947, India is merely an experiment, which is unlikely to succeed. It was an unique experiment in the true sense of the world. At no point in the history of mankind had such a large and plural society taken refuge in democracy.
A glance at western civilization will show the growth of democracy and precisely, how the policy of suffrage was slowly given to different strata of society. Here a million ingorant people where given a vote each.
The very things in which we have so often sought solcae are hurting us. Democracy, diversity, plurality...the list goes on.
A look at Russia and China will tell us how to govern a large population. Just because some western hypocrites say that democracy is the best form of governance does not count much. Remember that their modern day prosperity has a lot to do with colonialism and slavery and exploitation. This has nothing to do with democracy. They were a nation with small population and very unified social structure. India has more diversity than whole of Europe itself. Given the difference in social structure, why do we belive that their form of government will work here.
We make say that our land of glorious civilization has survived for so long, but never was this ancient land ruled by means of democracy. Perhaps the people of yore were wise enough to realize that to govern such a varied society, aithority was required more than freedom.

I think, in stead of commenting on the dress code, ancient sprituality etc, we should focus on the real problem in hand that is terrorism and polical crisis like situation in India. We indians always lose focus and take the discussion to some other direction.
Right now, we need the political parties to come together and agree to form the effective laws and implement it with utmost priority to address the issue of terrorism and save the country from becoming slave again.
