Whatever that Indian communists have done before and after the confidence vote has no doubt been a very carefully thought out process. Indian communists are neither less intelligent nor less introspective than their Chinese counterparts. Both have the same objective of establishing and sustaining the dictatorship of the communist party. All changes that China has adopted is to tighten the grip of the communist party over government. Nothing else can explain the ruthless suppression of the democratic movements in China. Whatever the Indian communist parties are doing is a well thought out strategy to convert Indian democracy in to a communist dictatorship
Mr.Raghavan's article is excellent. He has written the blunders made by CPI-M [ the big brother in the Left camp ] in a capsule form. Just for the adamant attitude of Prakask Karat, the entire Leftists have been branded as reactionaries of India's nuclear development. Meeting in closed doors are of no use since "their minds are closed" It is good that Dr. Manmohan Singh has called their bluff and got freed from the clutches of the Left. Dr.Singh should have done it atleast 12 months back. Anyhow, better late than never.

once upon a time it appeared that communism will be able check all poverty,oppressions and exploitations world over.But it resulted in different type of mental slavery.People of Russia,China and other countries who faced physical agony due to this mental slavery got rid of it or are trying to get over it. but in India it has become party of lotus eaters — preaching for others and maya bhog for the party brass.They are still living in the beauty of 'ism',they should come out of it and start working for india with indian tools and philosphy. aruna
I accept your view about CPM 100%. They should change to the timings. In this world of change if they stick on to the Carol Marx and Stalin. They cannot be successful in today's setup. Socialism is wonderful when you read it. Practicing it is extremely difficult. (Even in China!)

Change means - they should be available for purchase, just like Congress & BJP. We have seen drama during last week the MPs belonging to other than communist were being purchased for the ruling coalition. Therefore, the difference between these left and right should be there otherwise no meaning.

To what end? If somebody kills a Hindu, it is his karma. The killes' soul must suffer for such acts, not the victim's. This is what Hinduism teaches, and that is the essence of Hinduism. Do your Karma without seeking its result, and try to attain fulfilment for your soul!
